At least it is not giving me solid BMs. Sometimes watery, sometimes mush, still urgent. I am still eating GF, DF, SF, CF, and mostly fructose free. I eat very few veggies, chicken, fish, buckwheat cereal, tried Quinoa again - no go I think. I really am tired of this! I think rice and potatoes are not good either.
I went to an acupucturist today - that was my first time ever and it was weird but interesting. He wants me to take some herbs that he is sending me. He comes to my small town every other week and we will be in touch by phone on how I do with the herbs. He says my Chi is weak - that's energy in Chinese I think. He talked about Yin and Yang and I could not understand all of it - he has a very thick Chinese accent. He also wants me to use fresh ginger and cinnamon sticks while cooking. Also he said to fill a cloth bag with salt, heat in the oven, not microwave, and place on my tummy. I don't think any of this will hurt, don't know if it will help, but I feel I am desperate.
Anyone have experience with an acupuncturist?

Pat,
I don't have any experience with acupuncture, but didn't I read somewhere about some of the major traditional hospitals adding acupuncture to their treatment options?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Pat and all-
Have you ever considered Qigong . A chinese system of physical exercise breathing and energy movement through the body.
Qigong (or ch'i kung) refers to a wide variety of traditional cultivation practices that involve methods of accumulating, circulating, and working with qi, breathing or energy within the body
I practice on a daily basis, along with stretching and meditation. It made an enormous difference in the the beginning of my recovery with recovering from aches, pains and anxiety.
I am sure your acupuncturist could give you some good ideas , aiming you in the right direction if you can get into a dialogue with him.
I found it by accident.
A very happy accident!

Acupuncture
Hi, Pat,
I've had a fair amount of acupuncture over the years in the course of my search for an alternative approach to healing MC. I'll add that I'm now on Entecort, which has been a real help. I went through a period of weekly acupuncture for maybe a year. I was also on a gluten free, etc., diet. Interestingly, I found that it was helpful in eliminating diarrhea on a (very) short term basis--maybe 3 or 4 days, and then things would deteriorate. In Chinese medicine, the diagnosis was that my warm element, or heat, was insufficient. the This tells me that there is indeed something to be said for using it, but I think that my condition had been going on for so long that it just didn't help for any period of time. I've taken a number of herbs; most didn't do much, some helped a little. Your situation might be less dire, so it is at least worth a try.
I worked recently for a while for a friend for some acupuncturists in trade for treatment, and, to the contrary, I found that this time the treatments actually made things worse. This pushed me to seek out a western medial approach, which has worked.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your responses. The Qigong sounds interesting. I will do some research. I am kinda depressed about this whole thing. I thought I would be doing so much better by now with diet and then thought I would be doing a whole lot better with Entocort but no! I am not! I want to be and don't understand why I am not! sigh Just venting! Thanks for listening.
