finally found a med that is helping somewhat.

Hi everyone, I havent been on in a long time, I have been really ill. Lost 20 pounds b12 deficient, fatigue. Anyways tried the Asacol, entocort. Never got to where I was feeling comfortable about eating out. Havent been able to hold any food down without having diarrhea immediately afterwards. My doctor finally gave me Cholestyramine to try. It is prescribed for people that have Chrons disease and nothing else works. It really, really helps me. I am sooooo much better. Its a bile sequestrant and I think that was my problem. For people who have chronic diarrhea like i had, mention it to your doctor. I would love to hear feedback on anyone who has tried this medication. It comes in powder form and you mix it with juice daily.

I was also on Cholestyramine a number of years ago when Asacol did not work and for me it helped for about 3 or 4 weeks and then it did nothing. I was so hopeful it was what would bring me around but alas, it wasn't. Sure hope you have much better luck than I did. As we all know, what works for someone may not work for another. This is just the nature of our disease.

Never helped me, just gave me grainy D. Also tried Welchol and it didn't help either. It is always worth a try cause it just might help. One never knows with this problem what will help. We are all different.
