Tami,

Did you eat or drink anything today or yesterday, that you normally don't eat or drink?

The pain could be due to bloating, (if you have bloating). I'm not sure if anyone else has pain with MC, (without bloating), but as best I can recall, anytime I had pain, I was bloated.

If the pain is up just under the ribcage, slightly to the right of center, and you can feel it all the way to your back, it could be due to gallbladder disease. The gallbladder is located near the outlet of the stomach, (known as the pyloric sphincter). Here's an image:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I have chronic pain and have been in the ER many times because the pain was "too" much.

What medications are you on?

I'm on Lialda that I take twice daily. I saw my doctor today and he said all the pain I'm having is from the doxycycline took over the weekend for bronchitis.

He told me light to bland diet, pepto, activa yogurt and plenty of fluids. he said i should feel better next week.
