Enterolab results

Post by Delta »

Forgot to post these results from Enterolab. I also had a positive celiac serology test while in the hospital.

fecal anti-gliadin iga: 14 units
Transglutamiase: 11 units
Fecal fat: less than 300
Anti-casein: 15 units
hla-dbq1, allele1: 0302
hla-dbq1 allele2: 0602
HLA-DQ 3,1 (sub type 8,6)

Having been GF for more than 6 months now I have seemingly returned to mostly normal, on occasion soft stool and only 1 bout of D for a period of 3 days, which I do not have a clue on why other than it came on the first day returning back to work, so I can only attribute it to stress.

That's fantastic news! I'm so glad you are in remission.

Me too  Although the thought of never again tasting a Cristy's cinnamon roll is somewhat distressing, the feel good benefits from being gluten free are all I will ever need to stay this way permanently. As most of us have been forced into a GF diet and then rewarded with better overall health, there are so many people with other medical issues not related to MC that will go through life with their condition, never knowing that just going GF would help improve their health.
My wife went GF with me, over the past 3-4 years she has complained of joint soreness (knee and shoulder) over the past six months she has seen a remarkable change in her overall health, now she never misses a walk with me and the dogs. Is it due to being GF, I don't know for sure but I suspect it is. My younger brother has had psoriasis his entire adult life, sometimes it is so bad his entire body covered head to toe with sores. I saw an article related to very good results in patients who went GF and told him about it, he went GF two weeks ago, so we'll see how he does, but I believe he will see positive benefits from doing so.

Dan,

Wait a minute! You had a positive celiac blood test? How long had you been on the GF diet when that happened?

I'm glad to hear that things are going so well on the diet, though.

Do you mind if I add your gene test results to our list?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Tex the serology test was from November 08', I wasn't GF at the time. The two tests at my DO's request since then have both been negative, but those tests were done well in to my GF diet. Please do post them, thats why I put them here, I had meant to post these sometime ago they just got lost in the shuffle.

Oh! Okay, that makes more sense. You scared me for a minute, there.

I'll go add the test data.

Thanks,
Tex

P. S. By the way, your genes are identical to Sunny's

OMG, this week, on my travels on the www, I found a place selling gf cinnamon rolls. Of course I don't have the slightest idea where that was. You can Google recipes to make your own, though. I'll post if I find it again.

Awesome news! Its great how this diet works isnt it?

Keep trucking right along and those bouts of D will get further and further away. Expect some troubles but heck you are doing awesome it seems and just follow your GUT instinct... hehe
Dr Fine test shows positive for gluten and casien but negative for soy, eggs, and yeast
Maybe its UC maybe its MC? Who knows at this point, but at least I know my intollerances now... so heres to the road to healing!
