I'm Home

Post by kate_ce1995 »

Well, the weather cooperated and it only rained Friday night starting at about 8:30 and many of us were ready for bed anyway. I was SOOO sleepy Friday afternoon after driving 2 hours up to a 2 hour meeting and 2 hours back. Driving on the beautiful Vermont highways makes me very sleepy.

I am feeling better. My poopiness isn't perfect, but I'm pretty sure its menstrual now, not what poor miss Molly has. She is doing fine but dripped poop in many places while we were gone. I'm leaving that cleaning for tomorrow. She and Cocoa have had their first dose of antibiotics (Tigs went out...hopefully he comes home tonight so I can dose him). The vet warned me that its a bitter pill, they will foam at the mouth if they try to spit it out because it doesn't have a coating, etc. GREAT! Ah well, a little butter today did the trick. Maybe wet cat food tomorrow.

So back to camping. It was a good weekend. The girls played hard. I think Geoff's dad finally came to the realization that he really is too old for this now. He has had a couple of strokes and is blind (legally...has a little vision but not much) and really can't get around well at all. Geoff really doesn't expect him to live another year. He has gone down hill a lot in the last year.

Geoff is out mowing the lawn right now....the parts that are up to our knees. The parts he did between raindrops the last couple weeks are already ready to mow again but will have to wait until the rest gets done once.

Well, I also have a wicked crick in my shoulder blade which is making sitting here tough. I think its a combo of gluten and 2 nights on an old army cot with plywood instead of springs (remember the good old days at summer camp?).

I'll read the new room stuff tomorrow when hopefully I'm a bit more awake.

Glad to see so many of the gang here posting. It really is wonderful.

Welcome home, Katy,

So glad the weather cooperated and that you had a successful camping trip. I know......isn't it amazing how we've grown by leaps and bounds here? I just saw where grannyh registered. What a super group we are.

Here's a tip for getting pills into cats. Put the pill into a little ball of cream cheese. We had a very finicky cat who took thyroid pills for years this way. It's not as messy as butter!

Hope you shoulder feels better - probably will after a night in your own bed.

Love,

Polly
