VSL#3 for IBS and Microscopic colitis

Post by OCWALTZ »

Has anyone tried the probiotic VSL#3 for IBS or microscopic colitis? It's supposed to help with IBS and ulcerative colitis. I have IBS and microscopic colitis and take 3m Entocort but would like to get off of it if possible. I still have a lot of bloating and gas and thought maybe the VSL#3 might help.

Hi,

It's good to see you posting. Welcome to the group.

A few members have tried it, but I'm not sure if any of them are posting these days. Here's an old poll about the use of probiotics:

Here are a few old discussions on VSL#3:

Bloating and gas almost always turn out to be symptoms of gluten sensitivity for those of us with MC.

Again welcome aboard, and I hope you can get some responses to help answer your question.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
