enterolab - wow!
Ok - so I was skeptical about enterolab (despite the good press expressed in this forum)... I figured that my GI would have run all the necessary tests.... anyway... after giving up many things - including gluten and dairy - my issues were still not getting better - so I sent in my "package" to be tested for soy, dairy, egg and yeast - guess what??? i had a response to the soy test (not really that high - but still on the scale for allergy) - so I cut out soy..... and....... within 2 days my issues were resolved!! I even have cut back from 3 to 2 entocort.... I don't know what to do with all my time now (and prep H)!!
So....take it from a skeptic.....get tested - you might be pleasantly surprised.!

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

My results were "gluten and soy" and I'm starting to think that I may be more sensitive to soy than gluten.
I was away from home for several days starting last Saturday and I used mayonaise in those little packets at one place we ate. I had a watery D problem on Sunday morning. Worst I've had in some time. I also was eating more gluten than usual so I can't totally blame the soy but I've done that before with less punishing results.
Really glad you posted the fast results from giving up soy.

Great news.
I'd have to agree with my esteemed colleagues here that soy is one of the worst offenders for those who are sensitive to it. I know it is for me. And don't believe it when you read that soy OIL is OK because the offending protein has been removed. It took me forever to realize that the least bit of soy oil makes me sick. And so many restaurants and products use soil oil, unforuntately. Be wary when you see "vegetable oil" in a product (like canned tuna) - it can mean soy oil.

Quick update...
I did not test my gluten sensitivity because I had noticed an immediate improvement in sypmtoms and disapperance of headaches (haven't taken tylenol in months) when I eliminated it from my diet. My dairy results showed no sensitivity at all - but I've only added back in Greek yogurt. I want to take it slow so I don't have a setback.
I now believe the my flare up was originally caused by my nutritionist telling me I needed more protein in my diet and to use protein shakes and bars to supplement (most of which are very high in soy).
Who knows... I am just thankful that I now know what was one of the triggers and that things are better. However, I'm learning that soy is hidden in almost all processed foods...so I still have to read every label and be careful what I eat in restaurants.

I used to believe that the salads set me off, now i know it was actually the dressing. It seems all commercial dressings have soybean oil in them. I found a recipe for thousand island that I made a couple nights ago with the spectrum canola mayo and it tasted very similar to the kraft version, that made me very happy!
