Be Aware That Soy May Soon Start Turning Up In Tortillas

Post by tex »

Hi All,

Apparently, there's going to be a push to make tortillas "healthier", by adding soy to them. It's too soon to tell if this will be a successful industry-wide maneuver or not, but I suspect that it will behoove us to begin checking tortilla labels, in the near future.

I would be in favor of it if soy would increase MY shelf life!

geez I know soy does have benefits for some (supposedly good for the heart) but I wish they would keep in mind that it is still one of the top 8 allergens!

I have no doubt it's due to "cost savings" rather than "health".
