Please, Celebrate with me - ONE year GF
Hi friends,
I just realized this morning when I woke up that I started the GF diet in the middle of July 2004 - it is my anniversary
It has been an incredible year for me; I have so much to be grateful for THANKS to all of you, my wonderful new friends. You have helped me find my own two feet to stand on again after the carpet was pulled out from under me with the MC diagnosis last summer.
I love you all
I also love my life even though I do a lot of
Sweet dreams
Love,
Karen

You should be feeling very proud. I have learned so much from you. You seem so centered, didn't realize it was only a year for you. You really did get it together fast!!! Lets go out for pizza & ice cream to celebrate (only kidding!!!!)
Love & light, Rita

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Happy Birthday Karen!
You are such an inspiration. Gluten Free for a year is a BIG thing...but you have also managed to figure out your other intolerances which I'm thinking alot of us have. I'm working on that, and gluten is not my only problem so I'm joining the MI group.
It's my 1 year B-day as well GF.
Lets' party!
Love,
Joanna

Congratulations Karen.
I know how hard it is and a year is a real milestone. I have now been GF for over 4 years and I know I have to be. Got tricked this weekend and paid for it dearly. Got Harvard Beets out and there was a very little bit of flour for thickening but my system knew it immediately. Always need to stay very viligent.
Love, Maggie

Good Morning and thank you for all the cheers and love pouring out!!
Joanna, congrats to you too on being GF for a year - I thought it was more than a year now for you but I think I was fooled by the fact that you had joined Sally's group earlier than me. You are a darling and so is your beautiful daughter. You both have beautiful hair - I love the picture.
GF for a year - WOW! It even takes my own breath away when I think of it. I know that one of my thoughts when I started last summer was that the sooner I started the sooner I would have things under control and feel better. For once I was right (big sigh of relief)!! Of course, little did I know that I would find such extremely helpful advice and support on the internet. I am not kidding when I say I don't think my remission would have been possible w/o you, my new extended family. Who would have known without you, to look at dairy, soy, corn, and yeast for the solution to my problems? I would have been clueless.
Yes, Maggie, isn't "the system" just unbelievably sensitive? We cannot fool our own body. I am so glad you and Polly have shared your secret of the Organic Sunshine Burgers with me - I LOVE them. They are now my only source of grain/starch.
Rita, Pizza and Ice Cream LOL!!! It is so easy for me not to be tempted - I am kind of surprised at how my brain is completely capable of not craving those things. When I serve Ice Cream to my kids I am surprised to notice that I don't even wish I could have the stuff. And pizza is just too salty and greasy. Can you see the halo over my head yet? I did have a little bit of cravings for some Kefir that I saw in the refrigerator at the HF store yesterday - there are some new flavors of it that I haven't tried..... But other than that, milk and milk products have kind of lost their allure.
Mars, you are an inspiration yourself!! Hang in there and one day we will celebrate your GF anniversary too.
Wayne and Lucy, I have a very special relationship with you and the other folks from Sally's GF Kitchen who helped me so much when I needed it so desparately. Friend is an understated word for how I feel toward you.
Hi Peg, you snuck a little message in while I was writing!! How's the tooth ache? Are you feeling a tad better this morning? Remember, YOU ROCK too.
Love,
Karen

Well, how 'bout that!
A whole year GF for Karen and Joanna! WONDERFUL accomplishment! I recall so well some of the initial posts that you both made. Joanna, I remember how we wrote to you from Sally's house last June. And Karen, I remember your concern about not being able to work out/run any more. Look at how far you have come! You should both pat yourselves on the back. You are THE women!!!
Joanna - did I see you mention that you think that corn may be a problem? Are you suspecting anything else?
Karen - when is the next race?
Lots of love to you both,
Polly
