Conference confession.

Post by Bifcus16 »

Confession time. Spent four days at a work conference last week.

They had tried to cater for my needs, but needless to say it didn't quite work out. So I was naughty and ate stuff I shouldn't. The worst cases:

Tuesday I was good until the cocktail party - by that stage it was nearly 6 hours since lunch and I had a couple of glasses of bubbly. So I attacked the canape's. Mini shepherds pies with cheese on top, little beef and pepper pies, spring rolls and samosa's. Yum.

Thursday breakfast - my option was a half cold omelette with leek and asparagus. The regular breakfast was bacon, egg and cheese on english muffins. Since I was rather worse for wear after the previous night's party, my cold omelette just didn't cut it. Those muffins sure looked good. The cheese glued the bottom half of the muffins to the eggs, so I just removed the top muffin half and hoed in. My goodness it was fantastic. It took a lot of effort to stop at one.

In my defence I have to say that by the second day of little orange and almond cakes (almost thawed) for breakfast, morning and afternoon tea, I was struggling. And the zucchini and eggplant casserole for lunch on the last day - my most hated vegetables - vs some fairly plain looking kebabs - well the kebabs won out even though I am sure they had soy marinade.

Airport on the way home. Dog tired. 2 hour wait. Hot chips. What can I say?

Interestingly - no D. But the arthritic symptoms from the gluten are still hitting heavily.

I can't wait till I get my own kitchen back.

One good thing to say, NO D! Amazingly lucky, I must say.

Yup, being back in the home kitchen is a big relief after being away. We really are at the mercy of whomever feeds us when we're away from home. I hope you don't suffer any from the "mishaps."

I gotta say Lyn your post made my day, sorry to be laughing at your expense.....No I'm not.

Yeah, I was with you all the way, working your way through all those goodies, er baddies!

I'm glad you didn't get The Big D, you are one brave thrill seeking woman! I hope your arthritis feels better soon.
