Thanks very much. We leave tomorrow morning. Packing is really a pain now with GF,CF,SF food added to it all.

Cold up there, too! I guess I leave the flip flops etc. at home.

Rosie,
Actually, this current lady WAS with the agency, but when we had to call them again when our last one was in a car accident, we decided we wouldn't find anyone better than she is. We didn't know anything about her church affiliation, it was just fortunate that we got her. We never have to worrry whether or not she'll show up, and if we are flexible, we know she won't take advantage of us, and when she is flexible with us, we don't take advantage of her. I hope that more people who are good folks will fill some of these duties when they are looking for employment. It is really fulfilling, and there are a million ways one can make someone's life better if you focus all your efforts on their care -- be inventive and creative, in other words. If you decide to just be bored, you miss the fun of being an inventor. Mom is a very complicated patient, so we have created all sorts of things and ways to make life better for all of us -- just have to use the brain and put down the tv clicker and telephone, etc. We've actually had a few short term caregivers who loved seeing the way we figured out solutions for problems. I hope it influenced the way they did care from then on. Most of these were new and hadn't had a chance to get negative -- many were fairly young people.

Well, best wishes.
Yours, Luce
