Thanks. Hello from Louisville. I can't believe I can really connect at the motel.

I do not like DH's laptop at all. Print is small (yes, I've increased it) and keys are reflective.......

Rainy and cold. Praying my dinner at Outback was prepared correctly.

Joan,

I'm surprised that it's still raining - I thought I saw a forecast for frost somewhere in that neck of the woods.

I hope that your meal at Outback was prepared correctly, too. :xfingers:

Mom report

Post by JLH »

She seems to be doing fairly well. Having the lesser procedure with screws means she can't have weight on that leg. She doesn't remember, though. I'm afraid she is going to re-injure herself.

The nursing home where she is staying for rehab may become her permanent home. The only good part of that is that there is socialization. There are programs and activities like singing which she adores.

We found out that Mom's 99 year old sister is at the same facility so Mom saw her for the first time in years and years. Both of them have dementia which helped in a way.....

At one meal, someone's private duty nurse was handing out napkins and started talking to us. She had worked at the hospital where my Dad did and knew him. We got her name and number in case we have home care at some point.

Well that was a lucky break, getting help lined up, in case you should need someone in the future.

She is taking care of a woman now, though.......She probably has some connections, however.

You're sure making a lot of connections in that nursing home. That always helps. I hope your mother and aunt will find some happiness in being in the same home together. You may have to remind the home to let them have some together time.

My mother-in-law passed away in the hospital on Sunday night. She was due to go into a nursing home on Monday. We just returned from her funeral yesterday (she lived 4 hours away). She took a sudden turn for the worse a couple of months ago and never improved. DH said she told him the last time he saw her three weeks ago that she didn't want to go into a nursing home. My SIL didn't want to put her in a nursing home, but didn't have any options left. Considering all that she had wrong: lung cancer, emphysema, and congestive heart failure with fluid retention, I think it was a blessing that she didn't have to go into a nursing home.

Gloria, I'm so very sorry to hear that sad news. It may sound unsympathetic or what ever the correct word is, but I believe she was fortunate not to go to a nursing home.

Dear Gloria

So sorry to hear about your mother in law. A few years ago my father died just before we might have had to send him to a home. It was best. In my prayers, Love Ant
