I haven't been around here for awhile. I am a non-mc sufferer, but have been suffering from "something" for about a year now and it has been quite the discovery process. Despite all negative Enterolab results, I know that I have gluten problems and soy for sure. I am not sure about dairy but I am avoiding it right now. I think there was either an error in the testing or that I am just a weirdo who doesn't fit into the testing mold. I don't know if it is an IgA thing or what it is.

Anyway, I have finally come to the conclusion that I have an overgrowth of candida and have been on a pretty strict anti-candida diet. All my assessment questionnaires said I had a "severe" candida problem. I have been using some probiotics and anti-fungals but I get pretty bad die-off (or at least I think that is what it is) so I have had to really take it slowly. For about a week I had to blend up my food in the blender and drink it because I could barely eat. I am doing rotating with eggs and corn and so far have not been able to pinpoint any reaction with those foods. I just don't seem to be really making much progress if any. Some days I feel ok-ish but most of the time I feel pretty tired, lethargic, nauseated and unmotivated. I was havig a lot of D before my diet changes but my poo has been pretty normal lately (except for the changes you get from using psyllium and bentonite.

I just discovered yesterday that my multi-vitamin contains saccharomyces cerevisiae. I started taking it a few months ago, before I started on the anti-candida thing. It didn't have gluten, soy, dairy, so I got that one. I had read the label before but it actually says saccharomyces cerevisiae not yeast. I knew that saccharomyces cerevisiae was yeast but it didn't click in my brain until I was reading it again last night. It actually made me really exicted that there was something I was doing that might be causing my problems. How long should it take to start seeing an improvement after eliminating this source of yeast? Is it likely that ingesting saccharomyces cerevisiae would cause a problem for me if I have candida? (Of course, my enterolab test for saccharomyces was negative. DANG, why can't I just get a clear answer???)

Does anyone have any other suggestions for me? If anyone out there has had candida problems I'd be very interested in hearing your experience with candida. Or anyone who has had to eliminate yeast. I feel like I know a lot about candida and gluten but now I have a lot to learn about yeast sensitivity.

The mystery seems to just continue to grow. It's incredible how none of the tests seem to work for you. Normally, if someone is experiencing a candida overgrowth, they will show a positive result to a yeast antibody stool test. Since all the tests at Enterolab are based on IgA antibodies, (except the gene test, and fat malabsorption test, of course), like you, I have to wonder about your IgA responsiveness. :headscratch:

I've never been through a candida treatment, but I get the impression that it takes months to complete. I have no idea how long it takes to see improvement, though. Hopefully, someone with experience will share their insight.

I am sorry you have had such a long period of not feeling well. I hope your discovery about your vitamins helps.

I don't have experience with Candida I just wanted to wish you good days ahead.

I think you've made great progress if you've been able to go from D to normal BMs in just a few months.

I can't explain why you would continue to feel nauseated, but feeling tired, lethargic and unmotivated seem to go with this disease, if I'm not mistaken. I think it takes a while for you to have more energy.

Perhaps others can weigh in about the lack of energy and nausea you are feeling.

I remember reading others doing a candida diet and during the die off period they feel generally worse. I also remember one lady mentioning taking grape seed extract. Another had great success with caprylic acid capsules. I hope something works for you soon!
