Hotter than Hades

Post by kate_ce1995 »

Here in Vermont. WE are absolutely melting! Blech. Yesterday was 97 percent humidity when we woke up. Today doesn't feel much better!

It is supposed to cool off tomorrow. Just thought I'd whine for a minute. The heat and humidity really knock the stuffing out of me.

Morning Katy,

I will second the hotter than hades weather. Here in SE PA it has been running low 90s with 95% humidity and a dewpoint of over 75. When it passes 70 it gets much more saturated air. We are now in the 2nd day of an excessive heat wave warning. Have been getting rain late in the day but torrential when it comes.

Try to stay cool.

I can relate, the humidity is really wicked here and then when you throw in the smog in Toronto, it is hard to breathe. I just end up walking around like a drenched rat. And I did something weely, weely stupid yesterday, but had to get it done. I had Mels girlfriend come to help me put stuff into storage at my Brothers, instead of paying for the unit I have.
But I was slowly melting and I didn't want Beth do it all so I tried to keep up and lifted and carried and piled and so forth. Then we had the bright idea that we needed to take the dogs out for a walk since they had been couped up. We didn't get far. Not a good idea it turned out. We ended with a movie and pizza. My kind of ending, but I was so happy to get that done that and I never like to not pull my weight. The only thing is that my body totally disagrees with me. And on Mels only day off today, she would like me to show her how to bake blueberry pie. I hope that she is good to go with me giving her instructions from bed

Big hugs

It ain't that great here in Oregon, either.

When I got up this morning I was shocked to see this person emerging from the guest room. I had no idea anyone was here. It was my friend, Dollie, who lives in a studio apartment on top of an old house and has no AC. We agreed weeks ago that she could come over and spend the night with me when it gets too hot since I have both AC and a spare room. She has a key to my house and there she was!! I don't know when she sneaked in, but she said she got a great night's sleep. I told her next time to leave a post it note on the coffee pot since I have a propensity to have sudden potty problems when I am surprised that way.

Hahahahahaha!! It was pretty funny, actually.

Today more of the same?

Love,

Sally

Boy, you all are having such hot weather. Wish I could send you all some "Alaska Air Conditioning". It's cool here this morning- 55 or so and overcast. It rained most of the night and it smells so fresh outside.

Don't over due it in temps like that. The humidity just makes it harder to tolerate.

Love,

Texas is hot also...right now it's 8:41 pm and 89 degrees. I think everyone is pretty hot this summer. All we can do is try to stay cool :pepsi: and pray for :lightningbolt: well the rain more than lightening. Most greeting here in my part of the country include "pray for rain" Love Oma

We've really gotten lots of relief from all the cloud cover here for the last couple of weeks. Our rainy season usually comes a little earlier, so since July and August are the hottest months here, it's nice to have the rain cool things off in the afternoons, and the clouds to protect us from the heat of the sun like it's been doing this year, so far.

By the way, I don't get why the weather reports are saying it's in the 90's here most days as I doubt that we've had 90 degree weather much in the last two weeks, at least in the part of the city where I am, but then we're southwest of the loop, so it may not be the same to the north where the big airport reads temps. Guess we've just lucked out.

By the way, have a friend who just returned Friday evening from Toronto and other places in central Canada. She said it was much hotter there than here. Weird!

Yours, Luce
