Dana,
Since the changes in the law, an application by someone with a diagnosis of an IBD is not likely to be denied.
That update by Patches was the last time that she has logged on here. If you want to ask her for advice, I suggest that you e-mail her. You are one post shy of having written enough posts for the system to allow you to see her contact information, so I have e-mailed you her e-mail address. After you make one more post, anytime you want to sent a PM, (Personal Message), or an e-mail, to someone, all you have to do is look down at the bottom of any post that they have written, and click on the appropriate button.
This site provides all the information that you should need to file a claim, and it provides free physician RFC forms, that you can download there:

Please stop worrying, because a disability claim for someone with an IBD is a slam-dunk, since the law was changed.
Good luck
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thank you Tex for the response and the email address for Patches. I have had a bad weekend and the physician assistant called me this morning and had me come in to the office. I just got home. They are taking me off the Cholestyramine and raising the Entocort from 2 per day to 3 per day. My GI doctor wants to see me on Nov. 27th. I told the physician assistant that I joined this support group and she thinks it is wonderful that I joined. I told her about all the great information that I am receiving and she is just thrilled for me. I also told her that I look forward to getting The Potty People T-shirt which she thought was really cute!!
Thanks again for the information and link to the website for the disability information. I appreciate your support and kind words.

Dana,
You are fortunate to have a very understanding, and open-minded PA. Many doctors, (especially GI docs), resent patients going to the internet for advice and information, (they seem to feel insulted by it).
Cholestyramine very rarely helps someone with MC. Increasing the Entort dosage, should help to suppress your symptoms, though.
If you want a T-shirt, you don't have to wait until you make 50 posts, (I added that in order to keep the general public from requesting a shirt - otherwise, some people would probably join, just to get a T-shirt. ). Just send me the information that is needed, and I'll be happy to send you one.
You're most welcome,
Tex
