PHOOOEY!!!!
Hello, all,
I wrote the most fantastic message about my visit to the Greek Orthodox Church on Sunday and I hit something by mistake and it all disappeared. I was so mad that I shut down the computer and didn't go near it all day yesterday afraid I would take the keyboard and throw it at a wall.
I am over being in a rage, but I can't possibly recreated what I wrote. It was one of those inspired things and it is gone.
Anyway, my visit to the Church was lovely and then we went to a Jewish delicatessen for a late lunch and that was lovely, too.
The heat in Portland was not. Anytime it gets into the high 80s or 90s I have to take to my bed with a cold rag over my head. That's what I did when I got home. The older I get, the worse my reaction to heat gets, too.
Anyway, that is why I was not around yesterday.
Lots of love,
Sally

Hi Sally,
I'm sorry to find out about those problems. I've done that too, and as you pointed out, it usually happens after spending an hour or more, writing something that really interests me, and trying to get it just right.
I've found that sometimes, the post is not actually gone, it's just "hiding". Sometimes, I can click on the browser "Back" key, or the "Forward" key, and lo and behold, there is the post. Or, sometimes, it is just "minimized" in the task bar, and clicking on the task bar button will bring it back. Anyway, after finding that out, I look in every nook and cranny, before I give up, these days.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I also know what you mean, Sally. It happened to me too. I am sorry for you but I am sure you will get another nice moment of inspiration. If you had one, you WILL have another one. For sure.
Do not let the computer "ban" you from writing... We miss you.
Love,
Tessa.

Thanks, Wayne, but I did everything you suggested and it was just human error. You know, one of those times when you suddenly develop extra fingers and they hit something unintentionally. It's really not that important in the grand scheme of things, I guess.
Anyway, it's not as hot here as it has been and my bathroom cabinets have FINALLY arrived and are sitting in my garage waiting for the guys to come and install them. Buy, will I be happy to have this mess over with.
Lots of love,
Sally

Sally,
There's one other grimlin to watch out for these days. Many of the current browser versions have a built in capability to open more than one browser window. It's called tabs, and I have fallen into that trap a time or two. You hit the wrong key, and suddenly everything disappears, and you're back to square one. If you look up toward the top of the browser window, you will see an extra "tab". If you click on that tab, your original browser window will reappear, including the post you have been working on.
I think that this is what has happened to me, whenever I thought I lost a post I was working on. I had forgotton about that feature, and rediscovered it yesterday, when I thought I had lost a post.
Love,
Wayne

I dunno. I've never learned how to use that feature. Mine just shows up sometimes, when I hit the wrong key. LOL.
Look under "Tabbed Browsing" in the Help index of your browser. Maybe someone else is familiar with the use of that feature. I do good to keep a single browser tab straight, let alone two or three.

Wayne
