Oh for those of you who have not read any of the Harry Potter books...you must! Of course start at the begining (Book 1). They are compelling, impossible to put down, and yet light, easy reading for us adults. I recommend them in paper back though...I did the Order of the Phoenix (the one before this most recent one) in hardback and its just too long to comfortably hold while you lie in bed. They read very quickly, so don't be afraid you'll miss your other books in the mean time (although you've got some catching up to do ).

PS: I haven't had time to read in so long...but I love historic fiction...funny story...I was reading a novel set in WWII in Berlin...was actually re-reading it if I remember right. Anyway, had finished the chapter that took place during Crystal Night (however you spell that in German) and had gone to sleep. I was living in Boston (in college) and my apartemnt faced the street. I was awoken at some ungodly hour (even for a college student) to the sound of breaking glass! My first reaction was it had something to do with Crystal Night...obviously University House of Pizza must be being looted by the Nazis! Anyways, turns out it was a driver not paying attention, or drunk who missed turning and ran right into a light pole across the street. It was in front of the MFA and they have these big glass globes on their light poles. Well, one had knocked off and landed in the street! Maybe I get a little too into my reading sometimes!
Book finished!

Wendy, thanks for the Eddings author - I do enjoy a good giant/elf/etc. fantasy book!
I have been a HP fan since the first book! They are an easy read and I couldn't put them down. That is except for the names of the characters! LOL
I figure we will have to wait another two years for the final book of the series. Bummer
Until then, I'm off to start another book. Between this board and books, I have more than enough to keep me busy! And I'm lovin' it!
Maybe I should start a thread like the one for concerts seen and have everyone list their favorite author/title and the type of book it is??? Might give me an idea for some new reads!

I can't believe you read that in two days! OMG, my eyes hurt just thinking about it!
Maybe one day I will be able to read exciting books, right now I am reading about adrenal fatigue and next one is on hormonal balance, yea!
