WOW Peggy! Thanks for the wonderful explanation! I don't believe I have ever tried chickpeas. Might have to taste some of that.

Doesn't taste like chicken does it? LOLOLOLOL

Wow

You guys are fantastic!!! So many good ideas. For the most part, I don't miss much from my old life. Have lost my taste for most of it. Something about a hot dog on a roll though. Used to love my tofu dogs & am now finding the chicken tolerable. I too rarely eat bread & will try your suggestion Maggie. I think one of them has eggs though. Loved what you said Karen & Tex. I am eating to live now & used to live to eat. Most things are just ok & I do get bored but no D is a very good thing!!!!!!! Luce MY TWIN, I'm not sure if my hotdogs are GF but they are Applegate Farms organic chicken, no preservatives or nitrates (chicken, water, sodium lactate from beets, sea salt, honey, garlic powder, spice extractives & toasted onion) & I have no problems with them. Am planning on a chili dog tomorrow for lunch with some of my homemade chili (made by a nothern Pole). It is the little things huh???? lol. Love & light, Rita

That reminds me, I noticed on some sausage of Applegate Farms that it says to "Keep Frozen." Don't usually see that on the other brands of boxed sausages. Usually, just see use or freeze BY such and such date. Is it the same for the chicken dawgs, Twin?
If so, how easy is it to defrost one when it's out of the freezer?
Time is always of the essence around here.

Hi Wayne and all other food lovers,

I know what you mean; I didn't put much into it when I wrote the "doesn't take much to thrill us, does it?" sentence but I realize that it hit home with some of you. I think exchanging food ideas and food product analysis(s? plural?) is fun to do on this board; we rarely get to join in when normal folks exchange ideas, sigh. Have you tried x-y-and-z? Well, sounds great but I can't have dairy. Have you tried lactaid? Well, no but I am not lactose intolerant, it is a milk protein I react to. Dumb founded, "HUH?" Never heard about that, have you?! Well this salsa from Costco is just wonderful!! Too bad about the citric acid. And on it goes. Better to stay out of food talk with normal folks - it can be a depresser and the conversation soon gets focused on our problems; that's just so uncool.

Well, here on Wayne's board we get all revved up talking about brown rice tortillas!! Ain't that special?! I :pulsinghearts: it and I do get RRRRrrrrrevved up about it!! Can't wait to search for it at the HF store - was it "Food for life"?~$^*)

I am so thrilled about that and the Tour

Love,
Karen

Hummus is awesome and is really my main source of protein. Almost all market carry it premade - Three Sheiks being one of the main brands. Give it a try and you will be hooked. Least favorite premade flavor is lemon dill.

Wow, grannyh,

When you say you're going to do something, you don't waste any time getting to it! Haha!

Tonight, we had 465 breakfast sausage, "Classic" version, alongside some of Imagine's Squash Soup -- good combination!

Remember, back on the old board, that time I threw one of Whole Food's "homemade" sausages from behind the meat counter into some 465 Corn Soup and a little of that Pickapoo sauce (one Wren, the chef of the group, says she likes so well). It was really delicious.

However, I've noticed that lately most of those sausages behind the counter have soy oil in them.

Last time there, I was asking the butcher to pass along a complaint about so many people being unable to eat soy, and that their company was putting it into too many of these pre-made sausages, etc.

Meantime, a lady walked up with her little infant and said to add her to the list as when she eats it, her feet swell up. Sound familiar? Remember, that's what mine were doing when I was still on gluten.

I was thinking that that sausage was maybe an Italian flavored chicken sausage, but that was a while back. It and the Pickapoo or whatever that stuff's called, really made for a delicious soup.

I'm always disappointed whenever I can't find it. Perhaps I sound try one of the boxed breakfast kinds in potato leek or even the squash soup. Figure the spicier the sausage, the less ya need of it to flavor the soup.

Guess the corn soup based things are out for lots of our M-I's though -- sorry.

Yours, Luce

The last time I was in Whole Foods I went through every package of sausage, hotdogs and other meats and found that only the Shelton did not contain soy.. The prepackaged stuff that wasn't frozen was hopeless as well....
