An Update On Me

Post by tex »

Hi All,

I thought I'd better check in so that you didn't wonder about me. I'm in a hospital ICU, recovering. I woke up with massive colonic bleeding, at 5:45 yesterday morning. The bleeding stopped about mid-morning. If it hadn't stopped when it did, I doubt they would have been able to replace it fast enough to keep up - it was really coming out of there. So far, they've given me 4 packets of blood, and no telling how many liters of other fluids by IV. I'm stable now, and feeling pretty good, but yesterday was pretty rough. I might be able to go home tomorrrow, if everything continues to go well. Since I'm writing this on my phone, posting is a slow go, so I probably won't be doing much posting for a day or so.

Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Dearest Tex

I had also been wondering (and worrying) about you. OMG that is scary. Please take care and give yourself all the rest you need.

Wishing you all the best for continued recovery from this ordeal. You are in my thoughts and prayers, Ant

I am so sorry to hear this. If you might be able to go home tomorrow then I am hoping that means they were able to find the source easily and it won't require surgery. This just plain sucks.

Wayne,
Just thought to myself this morning that something had to be going on with you, since I didn't see you posting.
What in the world caused the bleeding??

I'm wishing you a rapid recovery, my dear friend!

Hi Tex,

I was another one wondering. Just wanted to let you know that all of us "mother hens" really care about you and don't want to see you in bad shape.

Sure hope they find the source of the problem and that you will be feeling much better tomorrow and that they spring you.

You are in my prayers.

Love, Maggie

I just learned this information from Polly's post and it was a real shock. I hope and pray everything goes very well for you from now on.

Whoa. That is not a good morning. Not the preferred method for decreasing your blood pressure.

Hope your recovery goes smoothly and quickly. And hope you can find out what caused it.
