Update #3 on Tex

Post by Polly »

Hi Friends,

Just spoke with Allan (brother) who provided an update. Tex remains on the ventilator, probably until tomorrow. Apparently they were concerned that there may have been some mild damage to his heart, and they wanted as little stress on the heart as possible. Of course, they have to keep him heavily sedated so that he will allow the machine to breathe for him. But Allan says that Tex is OK under all of the sedation - he can lift his head and squeeze a hand. The heart problem, if any, will be checked further tomorrow morning.

Allan thought there may have been a mild fever this afternoon - but nothing to be concerned about. No further bleeding, though - that's good.
He believes all is going as well as can be expected.

Again, I asked Allan to let Tex know of our concern, wishes, prayers, and love for him.

Love,

Polly

Thank you, Polly, for keeping in touch with Wayne's family. Wow, it sounds like an ordeal. And just out of the blue. And thanks to Peggy for taking care of the flowers. It was so like Tex the other day to say "no flowers--nothing big happening here.". Unfortunately he was wrong. I hope he knows how much we all care and worry and wish him the best.

Polly, thank you for keeping in touch and letting us know. This is pretty serious and I think we're all praying that Tex will be OK. I hope his heart hasn't been affected.

Wow. I have not been on the board for a few days and just saw all of this tonight. What a terrible thing to go through, and especially after all Tex has done for his health...Prayers are going up from me too...

Thanks for the continued updates, Polly. Wayne sure has been through a lot...... it just doesn't seem fair! He's had enough drama for a while, so I hope his recovery has no more unpleasant suprises.

This is just so hard to take in. Tex has always seemed so indestructable.

Something happened last night that I cannot explain. I never and I mean never remember my dreams but last night I had a very vivid dream that Tex had announced that he was closing the board down. He said there were just too many people....like me....that just read and don`t post much. I hope that dream never comes true.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Tex and you have to get well because we all need and love you so much. I have to stop...can`t see through the misty eyes. Love you my friend, Carol

Thanks for the update Polly.

Carol - This is just too weird. I also had a dream about Tex last night but he wasn't shutting down the board. He told me that he was just really tired and that this last surgery bout was a bit too much but that the board was #1 for him and he would never let his "family" down. Strange that we both dreamed about him but then again, it is laying heavily on our minds. I constantly dream each night and sometimes they are very vivid and other times - more often than most - they are just really strange and almost always have water.

Tex is a fighter and he will have to be on this one. I so hope nothing is heart related.

My prayers are so with him and I know everyone else is right there with me.

Love, Maggie

Thanks, Polly. That sure is news we don't want to hear, though. I hope and pray that things will go much better for Tex from now on......

Thanks Polly, Words just can't adequately express my concern for Tex. He has been a guiding light for me and so many others on this board. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

I am very saddened to hear about Tex's ordeal. I used to visit this board and post three years ago and again now with my recent nasty developments, and coming back, he was the one I wondered would still be here, lending support and insight and valuable information. I will send prayers for him as thru the lines I can read a beautiful spirit and a loving heart. Sylvia
