Things are looking up
Hi!
Just spoke again with Allan. (He has been so kind to provide us with a link to our beloved Tex). Tex is lucky to have a brother like Allan, I think.
Today they are working on weaning Tex off of the respirator. Apparently he felt like he was having some asthma as they were weaning him. So he is still on the ventilator, but sedation has been reduced, and respiratory therapy has begun - proper positioning, nebulizer treatment, probably oxygen etc. Tex is more alert now and will finally be able to talk once the ventilator tube is out of his throat.. Allan says the heart issue does not appear major. The docs mentioned doing a stress test once Tex recovers. Allan says there are no complications from the surgery.
So......it sounds like some cautious optimism is in order here. WAHOO!!!
Love,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
GREAT NEWS
Thanks so much, Polly. Good to hear that things are getting better for Tex.

That's hopeful news, Polly. And thanks for putting the positive title on your update as that allowed me open the post knowing that it wouldn't be bad news........ We've had too much of that lately. Here's hoping that Wayne will soon be off the ventilator and on the road to recovery.
It's fortunate that working on a computer is something non-strenuous that can keep him from getting too bored as he heals and has to take it easy. We'll be overjoyed to see that first post from him, back in the saddle!!

I can't tell you how much I appreciated this post. I have been so VERY concerned about Tex. Perhaps now I can be concerned (but not VERY).
So happy things are looking better and that the problem with his heart probably isn't too severe.
