Lyn, your comments about the Tim Tams made me remember our trip to New Zealand last year. We were introduced to the "Tim Tam Slam", where you bite off opposite corners on the ends of the Tim Tams and use it as a straw to suck up hot chocolate. I couldn't do it because of my intolerances, but had fun watching everyone trying to get the timing down right......sucking up the hot chocolate just fast enough so that it made it through along with the yummy insides of the Tim Tam before the outer coating melted and collapsed. Lots of laughs over the messy failures!

Carol, so sorry about your nephew. ALS is a heartbreaking disease. To last 10 years after diagnosis is a testament to his strength. A family friend was diagnosed last April. By June he was in a wheel chair, by August bed-ridden, and died in September, so it went really fast. He was 77 when diagnosed, so his age probably had a lot to do with the quick progression.

Dear Carol

I am so sorry to hear about your nephew. To get ALS in ones early forties and then to fight it for 10 years! Whatever illness does to the body, it cannot change strong character and soul.

Love, Ant

I know I speak for everyone by saying how much it is appreciated to get these updates!
Re the diet problem in the hospital, as my SO says, hospital food starts at bad and we can imagine how much worse it could get under these circumstances. Hope they can find something nutritious for you to eat, Tex. Hang in there, and keep up the good work. Regards, Bev

**Sigh*** tim tams........
I had not even thought about missing tim tams....... GOODNESS my switch must be kicking in.

On our project in PNG we had American Marine Biologists come over from Duke Uni to work onboard for 6 weeks. i think we got them adicted to Tim Tams. On the daily catch up call to talk about work schedules and if supplies were needed Tim Tams were always at the top of their list.

Rosie - the whole sucking up hot chocolate or coffee with your tim tam is just a ploy that you can eat more of them  as they do tend to collapse you just eat that one and then get another ready to use as a straw.......

Carol - hope you are doing ok.
