Hello GF Buddies

Post by m »

Hi everyone,
Boy, I'm getting worse and worse at keeping up. I feel like I need to confess, "forgive me Father but it's been several weeks since my last log on." So much is happening now on this site, it even looks different from a few weeks ago. I hope everyone is doing well. I've been very busy with work and taking care of my pets. My 12 year old cat Stinky has been diagnosed with lymphoma. At first I was devastated but now I am coming to terms with it. I will keep her safe and comfortable as long as possible but will not treat her with chemotherapy. I did some research on the drug they were suggesting and it seems like it has marginal results but some really nasty side effects.
Good health and happiness to all.

Hiya Melissa!

Sorry to hear about your kitty. I think you made a wise decision. One time when I was facing a similar situation, a vet reminded me that one year in the life of a pet equals about 7 years for us; Thus, chemo may buy only months at best. I always enjoy hearing from you. How is the old tummy doing now? :toilet: Is everything settled down?

Love,

Polly

Hi Melissa....Sorry about Stinky. My little Chihuaha I got about 6 mo ago has Diabetes. It's tough when they become sick.. We are going to put Jasmine on insulin more than likely if the vet thinks we should. The best you can do is make the quality of life as best as you can. Hubby and I talked about this...and we will treat Jasmine the same as always...she just has a little problem and we will love her anyway. Buckamster My Mini-pin and her are soooooclose in just 6 months. Pet the sweet Baby for Me.
(((((((((((((((((Stinky)))))))))))))))))) Love Oma

m,

Sorry to hear about your cat. I think you've made the right decision though.

Hey, my alma mater, Northern Illinois University, plays you for the first game of the season. Want to bet? I know there's no chance in H--- I'll win, but...

Good to see you.

Love, Jean

Thanks all for the kind thoughts and reassuring words about Stinky.
Jean- I had a chance to buy tickets for that game but I decided to go with Indiana instead. Sorry. As for the bet, I wouldn't want to take your money. :) Let's just make a fictitious bet about how badly we're gonna whip your butt....I say 30 pts. What do you say? Hail to Victors baby!!

m,

You may beat us, but I don't think by 30 points. NIU has been pretty good in the MAC lately and the MAC has done pretty well overall. I'm predicting more like a 7-10 point loss.

Jean - okay you're on.
BTW, what are those things in the little thumbnail pix beside your name. Are they some kind of bird?

m,

Those are my baby birds when they were about 4 weeks old. It's just about the time they get cute, before that they look like little featherless dinosaurs.

I can't wait for football!

Love, Jean
