Tex, how is the tummy doing?

Post by Polly »

Hi Tex (xet)!

I noticed on another thread you mentioned that the tummy was acting up a bit. Any clues as to the culprit? Or do you think it's seasonal? I think we should start documenting times of the year when people are flaring to see if there is any pattern. It may be my imagination, but it seems that there are certain times when more people are having trouble and don't seem to know why. Maybe there are other factors that affect us. Anyone have any further ideas on this subject?

Love,

Polly

Hi Polly,

Today I'm doing surprisingly well, even though I haven't changed my eating habits during the past few days. I note that today, not only is it much cooler, (since it's been raining much of the time), but I've spent most of the time in the presence of air conditioning. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Hahahahahahaha. Could be, could be.

I think that one of the problems is that if I get too hot, my digestive system slows down, and sometimes virtually stops, if I really overdo it. After it resumes normal operation again, it's probably working with either fermented, or partially spoiled food, that doesn't do much to help the situation. If it happens once in a while, it's not a big deal, but if I do it every day, it gets to be a problem.

I really don't know, but I'm going to try to keep my eyes open, and see if I can spot any trends.

Love,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,

Glad you are going better and Polly has a great idea of documenting times of year we do less than perfect - perfect, what a word for how we do. I think summer is one of my worst times and the joints are a aching right now and well as flare ups.

As I was watching CNN the other night, a doctor was on talking about the different kinds of folks that suffer the most from the heat. Older people, children, etc. etc. and PEOPLE WITH ANY KIND OF GASTRO DISORDER. I wonder if I can find that article again. I will go look.

He also mentioned that anyone taking immunosupressant drugs (me) should be careful of their exposure to the heat.

If I find the artilcle, I will post it.

Love,

Sally

Hmmmmmmmm. Did he happen to mention what the effects of overexposure to heat were, for people who are taking immunosupressant drugs?
