Sharin' that I'm Flarin'

Post by kimpatt »

Ugh. Here it is again! Had a brief "prologue" of symptoms on Thursday, but I got hit full-force Sunday evening. A wild ride that began with feeling constipated Saturday (& Sunday) transitioned into explosive diarrhea (but *that* part was short-lived), extraordinary gas (hard to expel--ouch!) & vomiting.

Today, I've taken a few bites here and there, but I get intense upper GI symptoms shortly after eating. Same weird pattern I often have where my lower GI seems to start my flare, but my upper GI is the loudest & most painful participant overall. So, very fatigued and feeling weak today, not to mention, horrifically gassy, bloated, morose... I really want to eat in hopes of having a somewhat normal day tomorrow, but I'm afraid of how I'll feel afterward.

Interesting possible connection is that I took Zantac Sunday evening for some moderate heartburn/pain, and 30 minutes later is when it all broke loose. Usually Zantac helps if its just an UGI problem. There's the possibility of a virus, but it seems to much like my MC (+ Eosinophilic Gastro) flare. Wonder if it could be both.

I'm also supposed to start my period today (haven't yet), and by far, that is when my MC symptoms are the WORST. Especially as my body gets into regular cycles again after childbirth...

Thanks for listening. Glad you all understand.

damn those hormones!

years ago my bowel had adhered itself to an ovary and when it was ovalation time, i would have days of stabbing pain.... and ibs symptoms for a week. i couldnt handle it so got the implant to stop the ovaries working. I have enough trouble dealing with digestion symptoms at the best of times, but when those hormones kick in GGRRRRRR
Till then I was a totally natural person but for the sake of quality of life I gave in.

hope you feel better soon.......

I don't know what to think. There's a lot of stuff going around again, isn't there?

Whatever the case, I hope you start feeling a lot better, and soon.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thanks, Tex & Gabes. I'm feeling better, surprisingly, and now feeling like 'the bug' was at least part (most?) of the problem. Whew! Never was the GI bug so appreciated. Would much rather have that than a colitis flare.
Gabes, I had a Rolfing appt. scheduled today & had her check for ovarian adhesions (manually) & they felt ok, but I've often wondered about that...or perhaps uterine adhesions. Mom had endometriosus.

I try to live naturally, too, but there are times when you've got to go the medical route for the sake of living life!
