Hi MAC!
I have never had any problems with caffeine, although I react to many foods.
Unfortunately, I react to chocolate itself (even without milk or soy), but luckily I can have my 3-4 cups of regular coffee each morning!

Contrary to what most doctors recommend, caffeine does not seem to have any significant effect on MC. Therefore, unless we need to avoid it for some other reason, most of us find that if we could tolerate it before we developed MC, then we don't notice any difference in the way it affects us after we have MC. IOW, most of us don't find it necessary to alter our caffeine usage, just because we have MC.

I'm not sure what's unique about vegan chocolate, but it very likely will contain soy lecithin. About half of us are sensitive to soy, and we react to soy lecithin.

Harma,
Coffee gives me diarrhea, but it also did that long before I ever developed MC, so nothing has changed.

Caffeine keeps me awake for waaaay too long. That is how zombies are created - 36 hours unable to sleep at all.
Even the caffeine in green tea, or too much chocolate, will mean a very restless night.
MC makes no difference - it is just whichever stage of the liver that processes that drug does a bad job of it for me. Did it before I had MC as well.
If coffee is affecting you now, could it be how you are making it? Milk, or artificial creamer, or a flavoured coffee mix.

I have never been a coffee drinker...just didn't like the taste, but loved the smell, oh well. So I move to a new community and meet different groups of people, and it's coffee coffee coffee, so I break down and start drinking the stuff. Some days later I notice I am having problem with hemmies. Yikes, they are painful! Go to the local doc who says some people get hemmies from coffee. Never had heard that before, but gave up coffee. Not worth it, altho I have heard there are some positive health benefits to coffee. I drink decaf tea. Sylvia
Do good or do not
There is more to coffee than just the caffeine. My DH loves coffee, but more than 2 cups a day and he burps constantly and is jittery. He got the bright idea to blend caff and decaff so he could drink more cups, and found that it helped the jittery but not the burps. So now he just resigns himself to 2 cups a day.
