The Tour - Happy Lance and Good Bye entertainment
Happy Lance Day to all of you cycling fans!!
He is an incredible athelete, let there be no doubt.
I felt so sorry for my fellow country man, Mikael Rasmussen, yesterday when he had TWO falls off his bike during the individual time trial and two flat tires in addition - a LOT of trouble He started the day being number 3 overall and ended it being 7th overall. That was an incredible slide back down through the ranks. But I think he wasn't prepared to be as successful as it turned out he was - it kind of took him by surprise that he was able to be among the greatest for so long. I still really hurt for him when I saw him falling in the round-about soon after his start. After that fall I don't think his mind was focused on riding his best anymore. I think the fatigue and the pressure was too great.
Lance, Ullrich, and Basso - the old contenders were all great.
I look forward to next years Tour.
Love,
Karen

What an incredible "Tour" it was and to be able to watch so up close and personal was amazing. I was able to see all 20 days on OLN here and was so facinated with the coverage. I'm hooked, and we all upgraded our bikes this week.
These guys blew me away and Lance's story is so inspiring.
Ride on, fellow MC'rs!
Love,
Joanna

Lance well deserved the win and it is great to see him retire on top. I venture to say that his series of wins in the Tour de France will remain unmatched for many years to come. Basso would be a great person to join Team Discovery but I don't think that will happen.
Congratulations Lance.
