How Do You Feel About Public Access to Personal Information?
As most of you know, now that the board is open for public viewing, anyone who finds this board, can open the memberlist and see who is listed, and view member profiles. Also, anyone can view groups, and who is online, (unless you choose to hide your online status, in your profile).
Now that I know more about the code in which this board is written, I can modify the code so that anyone who is not registered and logged in, and who attempts to access this information, will be directed back to the log-in page. That way, anonymous users would not be able to see registered user's data. They will have to register, and log in, in order to see your personal information. How do you feel about this? It's your information, so I'll do it any way you want. After the change, it will still be available to registered users, who are logged in, just as it is now.
Love,
Wayne

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Wayne,
At first, when I go to the board it says that the membership is hidden and cannot view it, but when I go into the forums, then I see anyone can go in and view members list and our information before logging in.
I vote for privacy. I've had many strange e-mails the last few months that have me questioning having my e -mail address out on the net for anyone.
What do you think?
Love,
Joanna

I vote for privacy too. Only those who are really interested and join the forum should have access to the memberslist and profiles.
Thanks for asking our opinion,
Love,
Tessa.

My five cents......high five it! ( due to inflation )
Keeping it private. Living in a world of heightened security issues we don't want to become paranoid but must have four eyes and four ears these days.
We know one another for the most part and the board should be a learning venue too. If a new person is introverted he/she may choose to be a reader and gatherer of information that will definitely be retrieved from this support group. Health information for the common good should never be hidden but one's individual issues are noone's business unless we care to share. When you get to know someone then perhaps you will want to share stories, recipes and family yarns!
PS: My son Eric had surgery yesterday on his back and is doing well. Because once a mother always a mother, I didn't sleep well Monday night but sure did last night!!! He will be sore for awhile and they removed a mass and it will be biopsied. Surgeon reassured me he said it looked clean but checking is always better-I agree! He was having backaches and all and now he's feeling better already. Thank God for intelligent people who take on the hard courses in life and become doctors! That's a compliment to our Polly too! Thank you honey.
love ya all

Mary Jo,
Thank you so much for the kind words! You are such a sweetie-pie! Happy to hear that the surgery went well. Please keep us posted on the biopsy results. Meanwhile, I will keep Eric in my thoughts and prayers.

Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
