Ok, How About This Arrangement for the Main Title of the BB

Post by tex »

Since HTML code is only defined for 216 colors, (as far as I am aware), this is probably about as close as I'm going to get, to matching the color scheme of this BB. The blue color of the marquee background is so dark, that reverse print is almost mandatory. Therefore, what do you think of this combination, which is a reasonably close match for the colors used in the subsilver style of the BB? What about the size of the main title for the BB? Should it be larger? Should it be smaller? Is the font a reasonable choice?

Morning Tex,

I like it just as you have it. The font is great as well as the logo. Since I am not the one taking the time to do this for us, I go with your call. Thanks for being a wonderful asset to the Board and all you are doing for it and us.

Love, Maggie

Wayne,

You asked! Having been a graphic artist for 15 years and a perfectionist, I have to say that you need a point or two of blue under the descenders (p's).

You've done a great job, please don't take this as criticism! It's fine the way it is if you choose to leave it.

My thanks also for this great site. Love, Jean

Hi Jean,

If you're referring to the height, (depth), of the blue background in the marquee, and it's positioning relative to the streaming text, I've already tried to correct that. Unfortunately, I haven't hound a way to change it. As far as I can tell, it's automatically determined by the font size of the text, and I haven't found a way to override it. When I went to a larger font, it was better on my monitor, but someone PMed me that it was way off on hers. If you can tell me how to modify the HTML code for the marquee, to do this, I would be tickled pink.

Hi Wayne,

I agree with Jean about the decending "p"s. They look cut off. Would it look bad to choose all capital letters? In that way there are no decending letters.

Otherwise looking lovely tonight!!

Hi Jean,

I'm with you 100% on that. That bothered the heck out of me too, but nothing I tried, worked. I don't know why it never dawned on me to try all caps. LOL.

It's a good thing this board is a team effort.
