I thought I was having a heart attack

Post by annie oakley »

I was typing a letter to my Sister when I started getting what I thought was the old indegestion and pain when the hernia starts to act up.....I did an exercise a doctor told me about to get the stomache to go back into place....drink a couple glasses of water and then stand on tippy toe and drop to flat feet....it ususally works...this time it wasn't working. So I fixed a cup of green tea....then one more...then a third and bingo! It worked...but for a few minutes I thought I was going to have to call 911 and let hubby guess why an ambulance was driving up (he was outside welding on the barn) I suppose I should have the hernia fixed...but it doesn't bother me very often. Sure scared me tho. I'm sure that Polly can explain a hiatel hernia better than I...Basically tho the connection between the stomache and the throat get's heriated and the stomache can pull thru and cause great pain. And it hit me just so suddenly. I am fine now. Love Oma

Hi Oma,

I'm so glad to see that your remedy worked. Not being sure about symptoms like that, can be very frightening.

Woooooaaaah, Oma

This must have been tough for you to handle all by yourself. Next time it happens (if ever, please NOT) perhaps you should call your husband away from his welding job so he can come and help you. Sometimes it's better not to be so tough

SCAREY FEELING

Post by barbaranoela »

Oma---that does scare the heck outta ya--doesnt it~~~~

Thats an interesting method but what I do is----when having a bad reflux is---which I posted once before-----drink glass of very warm water(hot as U can stand) and then drink a small bottle of CLUB SODA---that makes me BURP and pain all gone!!!!!!!

My nurse friend gave me that hint----
Thankfully I havent had an attack since last year --
Am wondering if it be the change from Nexium to Aciphex

WHATEVER it be---it helps and thats what I am looking for---RELIEF!!!!

Hope U feel better
luv Barb

I have a hiatal (sp) hernia too but I have never had that happen to me. I would have been terrified. I don't even have any symptoms (that I know of).

I am certainly glad that your A-OK!
