Hello everyone!
I just finished reading David Dahlmn's book called "Why Doesn't My Doctor Know This? He gives a complete list of supplements that he thinks you should take and follow 4 major dietary rules to heal IBD. Just curious if anyone of you ever tried following this program? Any knowledge on this subject would be helpful.

Liz mentioned it here:

But as far as I am aware, Pat is the only one who has actually tried Dr. Dahlman's treatment regimen. She posted later that it did not resolve her issues.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
From what I have seen on his website, he knows little about anything other than marketing. I haven't read his book, but the information on his website is the typical ignorance we have all been subjected to by our MD's.
Resolved MC symptoms successfully w/L-Glutamine, Probiotics and Vitamins, GF since 8/'09. DX w/MC 10/'09.

supplements are like food ingredients and meds, what works for one person may not work for another.
double check the ingredients of supplements, as they can have some hidden MC nasties in them.
I am very lucky, one of my dear friends is a naturopath and when we want to try me on a type of supplement she gives me a few tablets to test the waters (pun intended) to see if my digestion reacts, before i buy a full bottle.
I only try these if the digestion is good, and on sundays when i am home for the day so if there is any bubbly bum reactions or D reactions it doesnt really matter.

I would guess that 99 times out of 100 a diagnosis of IBD..by a doctor means... "I don't know":) In fact, my family doctor told me that definition. Since IBS is now considered a disease IBD and no one really knows what causes it.. some things will help some of the people all of the time and some of the people some of the time but it won't help all of the people all of the time.. thus a great segment of society to market to... you will have some success cases to back you up. Great money maker I am sure...
