Morning everyone

Post by Wendy »

Well it is another hot one here in Toronto. We did get a tiny bit of rain, but really not that much.

I did not sleep last night, not because of the heat, have the A/C to take care of that. I think its just that I get so overtired that it just won't happen. Even taking a sleeping pill. Also, for some reason after I do allot of stuff, it is hard to relax after, even though my body is crying for rest. So that is two nights now, with only a few hours of sleep in between. With the fibro, you get such a weird body sensation, well at least I do, that I am not good for anything. But I did get my storage unit emptied with the help of the Bethy, and my niece and her boyfriend. They did all the heavy lifting, but I did help, I can't just stand back and let them do all the work. It is just not in me.

A funny thing happened with Beth, as you know she is a police officer, and like me, when she is tired, she gets giddy. Anyhow's, when we were packing my mahogony curio into her truck, I was very picky about it being not able to move an inch, because it has three sides with beveled glass and fancy woodwork on it, and if it broke, that would be it, so even though it took more time, which young people don't understand, I did the tying down and so forth. Because it is around 7' high we could not close the back hatch, so even though somewhere in the back of our minds we thought this is not a good idea, we used a bungy cord to tie down the hatch from the lock to under the truck. Everything went without a problem until we were ready to go back for the second load. The hatch would not unlock, the automatic locks would not work, and we could not close it. Well, Beth threw up her hands and said, " I have an insecure vehicle!!! Its insecure now, I can't drive like this, its insecure." Well being much older, I knew that this had happened to me once with my caprice once, and it was just a matter of pushing the lock up and it would release. It was just that we were panicked, and it wouldn't work with us. So we thought, ok, lets just go get the other stuff and I will call a dealer from the truck on our way over to see if they can fix it. Beth put the hatch down one last time, and voila, it closed, automatic locks worked once again, and we were not going to ever do that again, lesson learned.
I took her home with me, fed her, and made up a lunch for my daughter who had been at work out in the hot sun for close to 12 hours, and we set off to surprise her at work. On our way over, I started to think about what she had said about her vehicle being insecure, and that started the hysterical laughing. Then the jokes started, I mean, who of us says, " I have a insecure vehicle? LMAO" So why is your vehicle insecure? Have you been calling it names? Not treating it right?
Well I guess you had to be there???

The other thing that happened with the girls is to do with their new little kitty. The landlady is a real nosy person, and just crazy in my opinion, among other things. Anyway, with their schedules and so forth they had not told her about the cat, but she went into their apartment while they were out and found it. She went loony tunes. She left notes for them and messages on all their machines. THEN, she went to where my daughter was working, and brought it up there, and of course my daughter started to cry as she just hates confrontations. Then I learned that this is not the first time that she has gone into their place, she has even gone in with her boyfriend while they were doing something and propped themselves on their bed and stayed for two hours, even though they made it obvious they were busy. Then one day her boyfriend went in when Mel was finishing in the shower, he was joking around and yelled get out here, and give me a hug. Against her better judgement, she went out in her bath towel. She was very uncomfortable, but didn't know how to handle the situation. He proceeded to hug her, and then flipped her over his shoulder and told he want his friends outside to meet the sexy L, even though she kept telling him no, he carried her outside and put her down in front of 5-6 men. WHen she is nervous, like me, we laugh, and she did, but she was humiliated really. And again, didn't know what to do, he is the landladies boyfriend. Then the girls started to tell me all the other things these two people do, and to say the least, they don't think privacy applies to the girls, nor do they think their should be any bounderies. Now, my daughter is not a shy person, about herself that is. She is just starting to learn that all people don't have good intentions, nor are all people nice at heart. So the cat thing just made it more clear to them, its just a tiny little kitty, :cat2: but the landlady hates cats, so she told them it had to be gone by today.
Which is not enough time, and they have no intentions of getting rid of it, they love animals way too much. I really think they need to go and buy a hobby farm, and live in the country, then they could have the pig they want too, as well as tonnes of other animals that they rescue.
But Nova, English bulldog, gentle little giant and little kitty are doing just fine. The cutest sight to see is when Nova mushes his face up against the little flat face of this little persian kitty. Adorable. And before they could grab a camera the other morning, this little kitty was purring away and walking back and forth in front of Nova, rubbing himself up against her face, as Nova's big eyes just watched her, and didn't move a muscle. Now how could you not just melt when you see that?

Well, gotta go pee once again, have also had the runs too, whenever I do too much, same thing. Swell up like a balloon with holding water then pee my brains out for days afterwards. Could be worse, it could stay there in my legs and so forth, right? Gotta look at the bright side.

The one other thing I have to say is that thank goodness Pebbles is older now too, she doesn't want to do anything either, and sleeps lots. Good companion for me when I am like this.

I also might be going up to see my parents again. My parents are putting in a floating floor, and we are painting the place for them. So need extra hands to help get this done for them. It will make it allot easier for them then the rug that is there now.

But that is not till next week, so I shall be back. Time for a nap, gotta get an hour or so, or I will be a basket case pretty soon.

Love u all, and take care, hope you bathroom visits are few and far between.

Hi Wendy - great stories = great to have some laughs with the kids, huh!?

As for the nosey landlord - I work in housing and what you have described is a housing violation - I won't even touch the carrying her out and plopping her down in front of grown men, or throwing her over his shoulder in a towel.......

There is such a thing as Landlord/Tenant Rules/Laws. The landlord is not allowed to enter the unit unless she gives 24 hour WRITTEN notice, or unless there is an emergency (i.e., fire, water leak, smoke, etc.). These laws are written to protect the tenant and the landlord. She might want to obtain a copy of the laws in your state.

Good luck.

I started to write a similar post earlier, but then chickened out. What Mars is saying is exactly correct, but the fly in the ointment, is that if you intend to enforce those laws/regulations, you had better have a new place picked out to move to. They can't necessarily throw anyone out for invoking those rules, but if they are creative, they can make life miserable, and cause the teneant to waste a lot of time unnecessarily.

What they did, (especially the boyfriend), is totally intolerable, and might even be prosecutable as a kidnapping case, but in the real world, pursuing something like that can be a very frustrating passtime. The situation sucks, but until someone in that building stands up for their rights, it will certainly continue. I'm guessing that big, burly, male tennants don't have problems such as that, at that facility.

Sigh,

Wendy, on another note, there should be a listing in your local telephone directory of the "Fair Housing Officer". You can do a Q&A type thing without giving any names to find out rights and laws of protection.

Unfortunately, what Wayne says is true - landlords don't like the Fair Housing Officer knocking at their door! They do seem to get thir britches in an uproar over that! LOL

This is not a laughing matter, however, something should be done to let them know that what they are doing is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!

Good luck to you!

I agree, Wendy. I was horrified when I read what that b*****d had done. Isn't that assault and battery or at least, battery???

I think the best thing is for them to take this very seriously and move. Because Wayne is right if they try to do anything about it while they are still living there. It can get worse.

I am very sorry to hear this.

Love,

Sally

You are all right. They look at a place tomorrow, animal friendly and right next to one of the biggest dogparks here. Right now they are just avoiding her, not hard when one works 12 hours, and the other is on afternoon shift. Mel came here after she picked up Nova and the kitty, who is male by the way, and now has an official name. They are calling him Novaro, like the rock star guy. It is because of the little black goatie under his bottom lip, as soon as they said that guys name I laughed, because I had said the first time I seen him, that it looks like he has a goatie (sp). I think the rock guy's full name is Nick Navaro, married to Carman Electra. So Mel came her, I fed her, and the animals stayed here till it was time to go pick up Bethy from the police station when her shift finished. And it is Monday, and they still have the cat there, which was the ultimatum they were given. And I couldn't be happier that they are leaving there. Mel had called a lawyer friend of hers, remember she worked for his firm, and lived with other lawyer in his office. Well she lived with her and her husband when her fathers new wife made it known to her that there was no way she planned on letting her dad go through with building an extention on his house so she would have her own bedroom and so forth. They welcomed her into there home, and when she went back there for 6mths before College started again, after leaving me out west, they had decorated her bedroom and had a great big sigh up saying, " Welcome home." Well Mel did learn a few things while working there, and she can also call them anytime for help. Legally she cannot do anything, evict them. But as she has started to do, make it uncomfortable for them to stay. She nitpicks everything. But they are just going to be the good people that they are and avoid any issues with her. The only safe thing for me to do is not go there, as I think I would quickly lose my cool, and then they would have to call the police, oh, Yeah thats right we already have the police, Bethy.

but it should all be resolved shortly.

Now it is time for zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Hugs
