Endoscopy done!
Hello friends,
Well, I made it through my colonoscpy/endoscopy. Before the procedure the staff physician talked with me first and once again told me that the blood tests showed I definitely had an intolerance to glutens, and hopefully this biopsy would let them know if celiac is the cause. The Fellow physician told me the same, and after the procedure said that my intestines looked good, not inflammed. I hope they were able to get a good biopsy of damaged areas. Of course they talked to me while I was "feeling good" with the sedation drugs, and I really wasn't in a frame of mind to ask questions.
She said that I can go ahead and start a GF diet. She said that if the biopsy didn't show CS, and I continue to have D, after going GF, they would look at other options. I will know the results in about a week.
Speaking of results, tomorrow will be three weeks since Enterolab received my test kit, and I still have not heard from them. What is the average wait time for results? I know they say "up to three weeks", but I was hoping for more like 2-2 1/2 weeks. I hope to get them tomorrow. If so I will post them so I can get your input.
If this doesn't make sense, I am still a little out of it from the sedation.
Til next time!

Gabes,
The prep was alot better than last time. Of course, since my body doesn't keep hold of food anyway, there wasn't much to clean out. I was cleaned out after one trip to the potty. No major cramping at all. I ate gluten free today. Fajita nachos today, angus patty, brown rice, cabbage for dinner. I work tomorrow, so that will be a challenge since night nurses love to eat! The hardest part will be not drinking my coffee with creamer. I am praying that I am only lactose intolerant and not casein intolerant. I will find out soon!
How have you been? I talked to my brother-in-law in Wyoming NSW the other day. He will be here in a few weeks for his son's graduation. We were talking about our travel plans for going to Australia next June. Can't wait! We told him about me having to go gluten free, and he said that won't be a problem because they have friends who eat GF and his wife is familiar with cooking that way. So, I feel so much better now. I was worried about being an inconvenience to them. Anyway, I have a feeling the year will fly by and it will be time to go before I know it. So excited!
Well, gotta go make sure the kids are in bed now. TTYL!

glad the prep went ok.
Fingers crossed re the lactose thing, i have been using lactose free milk for past 7 years.
how exciting you and your family are coming to Oz!
Eating GF will be easy, we have a fantastic range of products in the supermarkets,
and in the past 2 years the amount of products on the shelves that cater to multiple intolerances has increased amazingly.
there is even a fruit shop/deli near me that has full range of gluten free cold meats, olives and other tapas type ingredients. this is the shop that stocks free range gluten free eggs.
by next June you will know what you can and cant eat, so meal planning will be easy peasy..
take care have a great week and good luck avoiding those night shift munchies
