Hope you all had a good weekend, well it rained all day today and has just stopped but it was much needed so i did,nt mind.
Well wednesday is getting very close and out of all the operations i have had this biopsy on my throat is frightening me more than anything else, i think its just the thought of if, I know i will be put to sleep but that dont seem to help matters. I keep thinking on the bright side that i might wake up with a good voice but i dont think there is a lot of chance of that happening but you never know
Wishing you only the best for Wednesday I'd tell you not to worry, but that would be silly because I myself would be worried. If you can, though, try and think positive thoughts.
Yes, my tummy seems to be doing much better today, thank you.
I hope that everything with the exam and biopsy goes well on Wednesday. Worrying about the unknown is always the worst part of our problems. Once we know the facts, we always feel better. Hopefully the remedy will be easy.
I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday, and hoping for the best.

Thanks for the support guys, but what is really worrying me is that i have had the Ds all week (probeble nerves)but if i start to reach while im under, i might pooh myself how inbarassing would that be. well just the thought of it and i cant take anything in the morning to stop the Ds this bloody diease i will end up in a right ol state it will be coming up from top and bottom well its no good worrying about it what will be will be. Will let you know how it go'es.

I agree, the unknown is always the worst.
Just a thought, you might pull the nurse aside and explain that you have colitis and that nervousness causes uncontrollable D. Let her know you are worried. The medical profession is not suprised by many things. This would not be something awful for her to hear.

I hope you are feeling a little sense of relief just by the fact that the waiting time is almost over now. Waiting for something unknown and possibly uncomfortable like the procedure you are going to have is never easy. You seem to know what to do and you are right to think positively about the outcome.
I agree with Mars, try to let the nurses or other personel know that you are very nervous and that you need some comforting words and someone to hold or pat your hand and wipe your forhead as they prepare you for the procedure. Someone will probably be kind enough to distract you with some small talk about your kids/pets/husband/hobby or something else if you let them.
What time of the day is your biopsy? Let us know how everything went when you recover.

P.S. I can assure you that you do not need to be embarrassed if you do . There is nothing that involves bodily fluids that could shock the medical community. But I like the idea of confiding in the nurse. Just think of this little poopbanana here on the board and smile!

Maybe they'll give you some of that stuff that makes you soooo happy. They push it in through the IV, and if you're like me, I giggle, and forget my cares. Last time, EVERYONE in the hospital was laughing, too. I still remember how all of us were smiling. I had visitors, my sister, a PA-anesthetist (one who gave me the med and IV) and my ENT surgeon, and a minister, and maybe a nurse. It was crowded in the little pre-surgical area. Anyway, that one med sure did get lots of laughs!
That reminds me, I'll wonder if the sedation won't put an end to your D? That, and the fact that you won't be eating anything.
Yep, a nurse could throw a diaper type thing under you, and maybe some other contraption, and that would keep things under control. Even if you did leak a little, I doubt it'd be nearly as much as usual, so any precautionary thing the nurse could do, would surely be enough to absorb the stool.
Just thought I'd throw in a little humorous story from my own experience -- hope ya don't mind!
You are already gone, probably, so you won't get this until you get back. I hope everything went well including the issue. If they gave you Demerol, that will stop you up. At least, it always does me. In any event, nothing you do will surprise the medicos. If you haven't left, yes, tell the nurse about your colitis.
