Sales of high fructose corn syrup are already way down, and will probably continue to trend lower, as a result of consumer recognition of the possibility that HFCS may not be as healthy as we have been led to believe, for all these years.

This lecture on HFCS by an MD and UCSF Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology may also have contributed to the decline in usage. A friend of mine has stopped consuming it after watching the lecture. Note: the lecture is 1 1/2 hours long.
