Found this MS diet information-interesting
I Am Someone Special
Hi MJ!
This is indeed interesting! The diet they are recommending for MS (multiple sclerosis) is gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, yeast-free, legume-free, eliminates refined sugar, etc. It is essentially the hunter-gatherer diet with one major exception - it also eliminates red meat (interesting in light of the article Babci shared recently about finding meat antibodies in some people).
Remember the article about Dr. Fasano's research? It's in the Research Forum. He lists MS as an AI disorder along with celiac disease, diabetes type I, and rheumatoid arthritis. And he says that what all of these diseases have in common is a "zonulin" problem. Zonulin is a protein that regulates the "gates" that allow things to enter the bloodstream through the gut. People with these 4 diseases have too much zonulin, which keeps the gates "stuck", thus allowing foreign substances into the body, which sets up an immune response. Wayne, here's your "leaky gut" syndrome again.
The research on AI diseases is really starting to come together, isn't it? We here are REALLY pioneers in the MI diet, aren't we?
Love,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
