Thank You For All The Happy Birthdays!!!

Post by Joyce »

I had a very nice birthday. My best friend came to my work and took me out to lunch. And for a birthday present she gave me a watch that I can time myself walking. She is the one I'm doing the half marathon with. I always wanted a watch like it but just never went out and got one. One of the Sales Managers from work gave me a frog pen :bugzap: to wear (I collect frogs and have all different types in my office), when I got home a good friend had mailed a really pretty ceramic starfish to me. Work took me out to lunch today and my oldest son and his girlfriend are taking me out to dinner tonight. And then my niece is taking me to dinner Saturday. Boy, I love these long birthdays

Thank you all for the Happy Birthday greetings you all are the best :yourock:

Love,
Joyce

Sounds like a great birthday if you are lucky enough not to get sick from restaurant food.....

I think the watch from your half marathon partner/friend was a thoughtfull gift and you will probably use it a lot while training for the half marathon walk. How are you doing? I would love to hear a little more about it - you are welcome to pm me or send an email if you wish. KarenFechter@sc.rr.com
When is the race?

I am also training for a race but it is not a walk. I am actually running. My race is going to be a 10K in April of 2006 - I have plenty of time to get in top shape for it. I am already able to run the distance on a treadmill in 1 hour. However, when I run outside it takes a little longer. It is almost too hot and humid right now to go outside and run. It gets dark at 9 and I don't like to be running much after dark - it is not cool yet at 8 o'clock so I limit the outside running to once or twice per week in the heat of the summer.

Love,
Karen
