Howdy!

Post by Umber »

Just popping in to say hello! Hope everyone is managing well with this dumb disease and hanging in there! I know sometimes its hard to cope but it is our reality.....we just do the best we can, one day at a time!

I did a cleanse in Feb that was AWESOME! I didn't lose much weight but lost inches which was fabulous. It was amazing when I added certain foods back into my diet how they effected me. Big eye opener! So I basically have continued on with this style of eating and the fat is melting off. No bread, no prepared foods, no dairy, very little fruit....mostly veggies and protein in form of white meat and once in awhile red. I still struggle with damn SUGAR! I am working on it. I always tell myself is this absolutely worth the way its going to make me feel. Usually the answer is NO. I am at my goal weight and in the normal BMI range. I haven't been there in 20 years so I am pretty proud of myself. My hubby says I look better than I did 30 years ago. I was fat for so long that he just doesn't remember the slim, trim me! hehe!

I have a flare up on occasion, usually stress is a trigger so I am careful on what I allow to upset me.

My daughter Ashlee is still struggling with drugs. Not sure if she is still using. Her behavior indicates it. She was homeless for several months and we worry about her. Not making her problem mine is hard. We keep telling ourselves that this is her battle not ours. If I take it on, I get sick....so, I don't! Well, mostly, she is my child and I do have my days. On the whole I am in a good place.

My youngest Morgan just started culinary school. I remember her at 3 years old on a chair at the kitchen counter "cooking." This is her passion and so perfect for her, she's the artsy type. What a kid! What a head on her shoulders. I still don't know what I want to do! We are proud of her and get to reap the rewards! It doesn't get much better than that!

Our Kylee is living with her Dad (he is so awesome) and is doing GREAT! We have her every other weekend and her Mom comes to our house for supervised visits. I love these weekends and we get to spoil her rotten!

Better get back to work. I wanted to just stop in and say hey! I think if you all often and hope that everyone is doing well.

Hugs and Love!

Lori

P.S. I added iodine supplements and my thyroid is working much better. In fact I have had to slowly decrease the strength of my T3! That darned thyroid....it will make you or break you! Pesky hormones!

Hi Lorie,

Wow! You've been busy, and you're really dedicated. Good for you. Congratulations on the weight loss.

It's good to see an update from you, and it's great to "hear" that you're feeling so well.
