Post by Laurie »

Does anyone have an issue with eggs????

After being much better for a bit, I'm back to a running faucet. THe only thing I can figure is I've been trying to eat healthier and have been having eggs for breakfast...... hmmm.....

Thanks for any input.

Hi Laurie,

Yes, a few of us have a problem with eggs. I react within a couple of hours after eating them. Some here are able to eat eggs as an ingredient in baked goods. I haven't been tempted to test them in baked goods - I have too severe of a reaction.

I am also intolerant to chicken. I don't know if anyone else is intolerant to both, but it makes perfect sense to me that if I react to the chicken's eggs, I will also react to the chicken.

Laurie I have in the past, but recently have not tried them. It may have been that the ones I had were cooked with butter at the time. I need t try them again at some point, but as I am now feeling better on the simplified diet, I am hesitant to try them and upset the system.

I do! It was the last intolerance I discovered.

My Enterolab score for eggs was

Fecal Anti-ovalbumin (chicken egg) IgA: 8 Units

That was within the OK range of less than 10, but since I had not eaten them for a few weeks before the test and the score was close to 10, I have eliminated them (at least for now)

Best, Ant

I sometimes do but not on a consistent level. Almost always if I eat eggs out but at home I buy them at a local farm and usually have no reaction. Jury is still out on the intolerance issue.

My enterolab testing for eggs was 9, so within the negative range, only the only eggs I ate in the weeks before where was a cup cake a day in which "egg product" was used for. Normally I never eat eggs, only as an ingredient of other stuff, like a muffin, cake, mayonnaise. So my idea was, if I eat that little egg and score a 9, I think I am egg intolerant. I avoid everything with eggs at the moment.
