Drinking tea may turn out to be better than taking any of the prescription drugs, when it comes to lowering the risk of death from heart disease. Drinking coffee in moderation, also appears to have benefits, but tea seems to be especially effective:
A 45% risk reduction is an extremely impressive statistic, and it's approximately in line with the most optimistic claims made about the use of statins, for example.Drinking three to six cups of tea a day was associated with a 45 percent reduced risk of death from heart disease, compared to drinking less than one cup a day, and drinking more than six cups of tea a day was associated with a 36 percent lower risk of getting heart disease in the first place.

I wonder how many doctors will now begin to prescribe tea and coffee for their patients, instead of statins.
