Seems like a long time..........
Well, I just lost a fairly long post. I got my laptop finally and I'm not used to it yet.
For now I'll just say all is well and I'm truly enjoying being here.
Hope all of you are doing well and I've missed you.
Looking forward to checking in on a more regular basis. I'll never catch up with all the posts though.
Love, Shirley

We missed you, Shirley, glad you're back online.
How are you and your Mom?
My Mom (94) just had surgery to remove the screws in her femur. She finally got out of the hospital and is in a nursing home for rehab and then will go back to her assisted living apartment.

Hi Shirley,
Sorry that you lost a long post. I assume you checked to see that it wasn't accidentally saved as a draft, (there's a link to locate drafts, above the forums, on each page, now - in red, so that it's easier to find).
It's good to hear that things are going well on the home front, and that you've got a new computer. We missed you too. For the most part, we're doing OK, though, of course, a few members are working their way through a pretty serious flare.
Thanks for the update - hope you'll be able to post more regularly, now.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Welcome to the family, Paige, and I sure agree with you.PaigeP wrote: I love being a part of this group.
My Mom is fairly unstable with walking but probably lucky she is as good as she is. She is a very stubborn woman (unlike me - HaHa) and most of the time (in the house) she walks with no aid at all. Sometimes she will get a cane. She walks to the mailbox with a cane. However, when I take her to a store or something where she will be on her feet longer I have gotten her (so far) to use a walker with a seat so she can rest. She stopped out-patient physical therapy after a very few visits.
I'm doing OK. Feel much more peaceful here and more contented. Lots of work to do!!! Enjoying the birds, deer, rabbits, turkey, etc. I haven't seen it yet this year but a bear has visited my bird feeder 3 times so far.
Still taking one Asacol plus the Boswellia Serrata. Most of the time I'm pretty stable.
Have to read a few more posts now.
Love, Shirley
PS: Yep, I did check for drafts, Tex, and you are right - the link is much easier to locate now. I don't know what I did to lose the post but I'm not used to this keyboard yet. I'm sure I hit something I shouldn't have.
ALSO: I meant to welcome all the newcomers that have joined/posted while I've been "disconnected". A big to all and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all a bit.

Hi Shirley, good to hear from you again and hope your Mom is doing well. Dealing with a new computer is always an interesting experience.
Gloria, I hope you enjoy your family's visit. I have a son visiting from DC for the next couple of weeks.

Shirley, it's nice to see you back home where you have wanted to be. Your place sounds wonderful and peaceful....what you need. It's been a long transition with your mother, but it's good to to hear that she's doing better.

Hi Shirley,
Welcome back to PA and you sound much more settled now. I know trying to deal with your mom and so many other things - including a new computer - can sap you. It does sound like your mom is doing fairly well and I realize from living in a retirement community how hard it is to be a caregiver.
Enjoy your home - it sounds lovely.
Love, Maggie
