news from Belgium
Hello everyone,
I thought I should let you know how I have been doing lately. I have been on the Entocort for a month now and I feel a big change. The D has stopped and I have up to 7 bowel movements a day, as opposed to 25 a month ago. I am very careful in what I eat and it seems to work so far. I still have some abdominal pain every day but is is manageable.
I wish you all the best,
annie

Annie that's good news that you are improving. It does take a while to see the full benefit of the treatment. Overall 7 is still too much, but far better than 25. Keeping with the diet is key even with the medications as its the foods we eat that cause the reactions that the medications are trying to heal.
I am not sure if you have tried a product called Imodium here in the states, I believe the generic name is loperamide this medication and / or another medication called Questran has been beneficial for many who are still struggling to get their flare ups under control.
Have you eliminated gluten in your diet? I do not remember if you have had any testing done for intolerance's but some of the more common ones are gluten (wheat), dairy and soy.
Its good to hear from you

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
