If it can go wrong, it has!

Post by kimtg68 »

Quick post. EXHAUSTED! Had three of us four girls out today. My boss is having emergency back surgery so I've been selected to take over her job and maintain mine as well for the next minimum of 2 weeks. Second girl on vacation. Third girl was admitted to hospital this morning after showing up at work, she had diverticulosis.I'm the fourth and I worked 4 jobs today!!! Three o'clock my hubby calls.....septic has backed up into house! He needs help. I leave work. Get home. Thunder and lightening. Tree and electrical pole in front of house get's hit by lightening and power goes out. First Septic guy called out to help us gets to our little 3 ton bridge (only access to our house) calls cell phone to say he refused to cross the bridge. Have to call 2nd septic guy. He comes out. Yard is totally tore up. Lines are crushed and need replaced.....ON TOP of the mold issue and floors being ripped out and house is in TOTAL caos! This is unreal. It doesn't seem possible for THIS much to happen all together at once! I'm going to bed. Nite PP.

Oh, Kim, this is just unbelievably bad timing for all of this. Just when you think you can't take one damn more thing, it's one damn more thing. Try to think of it as a test of character, what else can you do? This just sucks and believe me, I've been there. You will survive.

Wow kim, that is a lot to handle all at the same time, I don't envy you. It sounds like you are in the middle of a storm. (I am referring to your expression at the bottom of all your messages : Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain. Well this sounds like your moment has come to learn how to dance in rain).

Please look after yourself and ask for help (if possible of course).

Kim,

When it rains, it pours! Hope the sun is shining and after a good night's rest you'll start to sort things out. Shooting good thoughts your way.

I've had some sleep and feel more energized emotionally and physically. Hubby and I actually had a good laugh this morning out of all this. Of course you have to know that my family is jokingly blaming me for the septic issue. Comments like, "If you'd just stop pooping so much this wouldn't happen" LOL It was a bit tough to be positive yesterday when you are literally knee deep in Poop and then have to get elbow deep in it as well. Poop has definitely not been my friend in many ways. Thanks all for your support. We are learning to "dance in the rain". I may not have many chances in the next couple weeks to post on here but know I'm thinking of my PP.

Kim,

If this isn't a perfect example of Murphy's Law (if it can go wrong it will) I don't know what is!! But it sounds as if you have a great attitude and that you will plow your way through these obstacles with grit and determination. And humor, too! It is always helpful to be able to joke about POOP. :poopbanana: Good luck - I will be thinking of you, dear. I can appreciate your sensitivity about the toilet/sewage problem - it goes with "our" (MC) territory, doesn't it?

Love,

Polly

Kim,

What a day! I realize that all of this totally sucks, but there's a silver lining to every cloud - you will have one heck of a story to tell your grandkids, when they start whining about how tough their life is.

I wish you the best, and hope that things get back to normal, soon.

Tex

P. S. As Polly mentioned, we're sitting ducks, when someone is looking for the cause of a sewage blockage or backup. What can we say?

Kim, what a mess! But as Tex mentioned, it will make a great story! Have you noticed that people love to hear disaster stories, but get quickly bored if you relate something really good that happened?

I've also noticed that it's actually easier to get through a short-lived major disaster than have to deal with a less serious but long-lasting one....... I think that's why MC is so difficult to deal with, because it's the seemingly never-ending effort to cope with symptoms and/or restricted diet. And I think that it goes for doctors too. They are at their best with an acute life-threatening emergency, but don't do as well with chronic, difficult illnesses like MC.

Kim it seem like Murphy and his annoying set of laws are paying you a visit recently. I hope things settle down soon.

Best wishes

Kim, it sure sounds like you've got a real mess on your hands. Having mold isn't enough; now you have to have sewage! I hope you can get it all cleaned up soon.

Kim,

So sorry to hear that it is not just raining but totally pouring for you. Know the jokes on the pooping and septic system - have heard them all.

Hope things get back to normal soon and life is on the upswing.

Dear Kim;

So sorry to hear of your further trials and tribulations with the house, and work as well. I hope this week is better and that you get it all cleaned up and fixed soon. You have quite the great attitude to still be able to make jokes about it!

Big hug :bigbighug:
