Changes to the Header

Post by tex »

Hi All,

As you can see, I've made some more changes to the header. I like this arrangement, because it gets the marquee up above the logo, so that it doesn't look like the marquee is running into the logo. Also, I feel that the larger, red, bold, font, on the site description, makes it much easier for a newbie, surfing for information, to quickly determine what the site is all about.

I've also added a note beside the link to Sally's Photo Album, which should eliminate a lot of questions about how to get photos into the album.

It seems to be fairly well balanced this way. Jean, if you see anything wrong, from a graphic design standpoint, please let me know.

Or, if anyone sees anything significantly wrong with this layout, please don't keep it a secret. Thanks.

Love,
Tex

Well IMHO, and with my limited knowledge of the english language, I think it would read better like this...

Discussion and Support Forum for Collagenous, Lymphocytic, and Microscopic Colitis, as well as Related Issues

I think currently it says 'colitis' too many times. But that's only one opinion, right?

Well, I agree with you, Peg, but the more times key words are repeated, the higher the index ratings for those words for the site, in google's ratings, and colitis is a very imporant key word for this site.

Since google doesn't seem inclined to find us anyway, though, it might be a moot point. LOL.

Hmmmmm what's up with that? How does one search for us? I tried microscopic, collagenaous, colitis, etc and no hits on this site? I don't know enough about how one gets closer to the top when a search is done....let me see what I can find out.

Maybe Google's spider hasn't crawled the Web since we went public. Usually it takes a while.

Sorry, Peg, about the insect.

Well no wonder--you mispelled collagenous. LOL.

Sally's right. I haven't caught any googlebots indexing the site yet.

I still haven't installed the "guest sessions MOD'", which will allow the bots to properly navigate the site. I had just done that last Thursday, when the server swarmed on us. Since then, I'm a bit gun shy about accidentally "killing" the site, as it seems to worry some folks, and so I'm a little self-conscious about it.

The problem is, every time something like that happens, in addition to trying to find the problem, and getting the board back online, I also have to answer a bunch of e-mails, which of course, doesn't add much to the enjoyment of the adventure. LOL.

Wayne

I just spent a few mintues looking for us, but to no avail.

Amazing....I googled keywords "microscopic colitis support" and there were 45,200 sites.

When I googled "colitis support" there were 1,110,00 sites!

It's mind blowing for sure. We are "out there" somewhere in space and soon to be discovered..
