Weight gain or loss after starting GF/DF diet?
Poll on weight gain/weight loss. I lost 7 lbs in less than 2 months on the GF/DF diet, mostly because I noticed a severe decrease in food cravings. I have to remind myself to eat now. I guess gluten really is addictive. I expected to gain weight once the D improved. But my diet is much healthier too.
I wasn't quite sure how to respond to this poll, because I had a bad malabsorption problem, (and a lot of small intestinal damage), so I was still losing weight after I started the diet. It took me a long time to reach remission, (a year and a half), but after I finally achieved remission, then I gained all my weight back, (and then some). IOW, I wasn't sure if you actually meant after starting the diet, or if you really meant after reaching remission, (I decided that you probably meant the latter). Soooooooo, I selected the third poll option.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I've lost weight while eating 3 meals a day plus snacks (no loss of appetite here) since going GF/DF/SF/EF/CF (7 months now). I don't need multi-vitamins as Tex has just mentioned to increase your metabolism..............I have it naturally. Of course, I lost 18 pounds prior to finding this great website. Since adding some grains in the last month, I am beginning to hold my own...........praise the Lord! Ginny
