Results of Enterolab Test !!

Post by Kristtene »

My results came in: I have gluten sensitivity. Who'd ever think?? I also have soy sensitivity (scored a 10, and under 10 is normal).

I don't touch soy anyways.

Does brown or wild rice contain gluten?

I wonder if gluten is in a lot of chocolate goods, like chocolate bars, brownies, etc. I know some baked goods say "gluten free" on them.

I swore I had a sensitivity to eggs, but I guess I was wrong.

It's good to know that what your body was telling you about soy is confirmed by the tests......although a soy intolerance is one of the toughest to adjust to because soy is hidden everywhere, as I know because I'm also soy intolerant. For example, you say:
I wonder if gluten is in a lot of chocolate goods, like chocolate bars, brownies, etc.

Finding chocolate without gluten isn't too hard, but finding it without soy is the real problem. Most chocolate contains soy lecithin, a no-no. But there are brands that are free of gluten/dairy/soy, you just have to look for them. For example, Namaste brand Brownie Mix is one I make a lot, and the brownies are really yummy.

Brown rice and wild rice should be gluten free, just watch out if the wild rice is an a mix. You might want to go easy on the brown rice, as it has a lot more fiber than white rice and can irritate.

It's a lot of work at the start, but after a short time you will have identified good substitutes.
