GOOD GRIEF, when I opened the Board I almost fell off my chair. I don't think so, Wayne. It is much too garish. Please put the old one back. IMHO.
Lots of love,
Sally

LOL. Are you referring to the site description? I didn't change the site name in the marquee.
The problem with the previous arrangement, was that when I added the link to your album, the site description was automatically downsized, (and therefore de-emphasized). People searching the net for help, (especially when they are sick, I would assume), need to be able to see at a glance what a site is all about.
Is it the color, or the font size, (or font style), or the combination, that bothers you?
Gee, I thought it was nifty, but then, I'm just an ignorant old country boy. LOL. I certainly don't want anyone to get a headache, or fall off their chair.
Love,
Wayne
P S Now you see why Peg thinks I'm a turkey. LOL.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
OK, will analyze the title or whatever you call it. The RED thing.
First of all, it clashes with the orange in the ticker.
Secondly, it does just jump out and practically knock me down.
Third, it is just too big.
And, fourth, I think that with the ticker running just above it, it is redundant.
As you can see, I really don't like it. But I am just a turkey hick from Oregon so what do I know? I can live with it. That I DO know.
Lots of love and and
Sally

Sally.
You're a much faster responder than I am.
Ok, here's why we have to have some type of description up there. First off, most newbies may not know what microscopic colitis is, if their doctor told them that they had CC, or LC. If they are looking for CC, and the site says MC, they will probably move right along.
Secondly, some search engines, (google, for example), do not pay much attention to meta tags, (which are invisable to browsers, but visable to web crawlers), because they are so "overdone" these days. Instead they search the headers of visable page information to get the information they need to "index" the site. The more descriptive information that is visable at the top of each page on the site, the better the index rating. Yes, all of us know what the site is all about, but no one else does, and many of them are not willing to spend an hour reading posts, to try to figure out if the site is worth investigating, or not.
I would like to list more "key words" at the top of the pages, especially the index page, in order to boost visability to search engines and newbies, but as you know, the page gets too "busy" if you add too much, and it tends to defeat the purpose. We have to try to find a balance, that is adequate, without amounting to an overkill. The size of the text in headers also makes a difference to search engines such as google. They infer that a larger font means more importance.
Google is not going to index the posts on a bulletin board, because that is considered to be dynamic content. That means we are starving for information to offer search engines such as google, unless we offer a reasonable amount of static content, (such as headers, descriptions, etc.), And yes, I believe that google probably considers colors, also.
Now you know why I do some of the seemingly weird things that I sometimes do. LOL.
Love,
Wayne
