Hi Rita,

Your Aunt Frances sounds a bit like Yogy B, only HERS make sense!! I like it!

Polly, now I am confused. Somehow, the redundancy thing sounds good to me, also.

Perhaps the introductory DEFINITION followed by Q&A, followed by the more detailed paragraphs. Seems as though one usually sees a definition right at the beginning of these sites with alternative names(LC/MC) included.

Can you visualize what I'm saying?

Tex,

Didn't realize that technical stuff was built in, so I'm sure most of the lerkers/new members will be familiar with that sort of thing. Sounds like you're already planning on doing what I was thinking about with the Faq in the Information area.

I'll just bet you've got all this pencilled out on a big spread sheet or something, don't you Wayne? Well, whatever engineering types use that's LIKE spread sheets. It would help me if I could see things on paper. I'm a bit slow by the late hours I usually can get on the net, soo..

It's just wonderful how this is all taking place, and I'm impressed at what's been done so far, and so quickly! Good job!

Karen,

Like the cross reference idea. There might be another way to do that.

Have seen things with one liners or short paragraphs on one page, and then, in parenthesis, "(more)" would be typed, and the reader would merely click on the (more) to obtain a lengthier explanation of the topic.

Thanks all, Yours, Luce

Or links within the text (one word or phrase would be highlighted and lead you to another topic or a brief overview of that topic). We could have what Polly wrote in the Newbies section with links to FAQs, because that's when the Qs begin, when you're reading that description..

Introductory stuff

Post by Lucy »

Is there any way some basic information could appear on the very first page one sees when clicking on to the site, followed by an explanation of what's available within the site? I'm talkin' reallllly succinct stuff for the first page?

Yours, Luce

Mornin'!

Thanks for all of your great comments. I haven't had a chance to go back
and revise yet, but I did go ahead and move the overview to the newbie room so it doesn't get lost. This is some busy board already!

I will add a few sentences as per your suggestions. And then either put into FAQ format or refer from key words to FAQ or other resources. You can check it out in the newbie room and give me your feedback. Stay tuned.
