A wombat...I have heard the name but I don't think I have ever seen a pciture of one. What sort of a critter is it... like a big ground hog?

yeah a wombat is a bit like a ground hog.......

they sleep all day come out at night, their favourite activity is digging.
they are a very solid frame animal and even though they are only 20 - 30cm in height, they can totally trash the axle and wheel system of your car if you hit one

i think the other shot is actually a wallaby or a wallaroo not a kangaroo. Kangaroos are much larger

Thanks, Gabes! I never knew the difference between a wallaby and a kangaroo, and a wallaroo is a totally new creature to me... we learn so much on this site that isn't even related to MC!
