My Reclast infusion adventure round 2
Because I started my first pill (Neurontin) at 3 in the afternoon it became difficult to keep up a 6 hours schedule and I missed two of the the 3 am pills. The pain came back and I adjusted my schedule to something more workable.. 6 am, 12 pm, 6 pm and 11 pm.
Still having pain in the mornings so when I went back to the family doctor this week he suggested I take an extra pill at bedtime.. since I wasn't sure I would ALWAYS get up in the middle of the night to go potty. Seemed easier just to take two at night.. I MIGHT get up to go potty but probably would forget to take a pill..LOL
So far the extra pill at night helps..no morning pain. Sure hope the inserts for the drug are correct and this nonsense won't go past 3 weeks.

I nearly fainted today when I picked up my Endocort and
I asked the Pharmacist how much did the medicine cost
without insurance. $1084
I couldn't believe my ears... That's just down right deplorable
to charge such a price. I am so thankful to have insurance because
without it, there would be no way I could afford it.

Based on the discussions about osteoarthritis etc I am having a bone density scan this week.
to have this test at no cost i have to be post menapausal so it will cost me a bit, i am not willing to wait given the various discussions on this site and the research about Vit D.
the doctor said that the government does not consider conditions such as MC are not considered as 'serious risks' to bone health to justify no cost testing.
she said it will take alot of data to convince them otherwise, and most people when they hear there is a cost will not have the test (so catch 22 situation how will the govt get the data to realise that there is a connection between these conditions and bone density if people dont have the tests aaarrrgggghhh)
i am keen to maintain good bone health now and not have to endure what granny has had to

Before we went on Medicare.. our private insurance paid for bone density tests as part of my annual physical. I am now post menapausal so Medicare did pay. We had excellent private insurance.. not all plans are equal.
Still on the pills for the after pain of the infusion.. the pain is still there.. I know because if I go too long between pills the pain is back.
